This cafe is about 5 miles off the freeway but well worth the drive. Located in an old historical building and decorated with Texas country charm. The waitress was great and even made me a fresh pot of decaf coffee even though breakfast service was just about over. We ordered the steak omelette and there was no skimping on the steak. Very generous portions. There are quaint shops to browse in around the courthouse square. Very enjoyable stop on our travels.

Ya know, sometimes you find a gem when you least expect it. Pioneer Cafe is one of those places....this place is fantastic for anyone looking for good food, good people, and a full belly, without emptying your full wallet. This is hometown country cooking at its finest....everything is cooked to order, no heat lamps here, the omelets were huge and full of everything you ask for in it, they don't scrimp on food. The breakfast burritos are also huge and so tasty, the salsa is awesome, hash browns were fresh and delicious and the biscuits and gravy were delicious as well. The walls are full of memorabilia that will spark great discussion and memories. The coffee cup never got more than half empty. The staff are friendly and helpful, they really want to make your day a little better and your meal exactly what you want it to be. I absolutely love Pioneer Cafe, I came hungry, left full, and took home a carry out box of the leftovers that I couldn't finish... And the price was more than fair for the quality and quantity of food I got and enjoyed. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back for more! GREAT Job Pioneer Cafe!!!

Came through from Memphis on the way to Austin. Parked at the Tesla charging station across the street and just walked in to sit down for a few minutes with my boss. Ended up ordering the chicken fried chicken, greens and mashed potatoes - and let me tell you.... you better hold on to the table, because every memory of your childhood will come swimming back through the confines of your brain in a symphony of flavor and emotion. The corn muffins and rolls, the saltiness of the greens, the savoriness of the chicken fried chicken. Call up the food critic from Ratatouille because this is Remy’s restaurant. Compliments to the chef, cause you’ll be thinking God himself breathed life into the kitchen here. Gordon Ramsay would be pleased. Bobby Flay would be proud. Rachel Ray would spend all $40 right here for all 3 meals. And most importantly, Mom would approve - cause they pretty much stole her recipe anyways. Eat here. You won’t regret it.

Better than a 4 but not quite a 5. Food was good just a bit more spicy that we are accoustomed to. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was served promptly at appropriate temperatures. The rolls we're especially good. We decided to order pecan pie cobbler to share for dessert. It was $6 but worth every penny. We will be back
