Damn Fine Coffee and Fried Pies

Mel was so nice and knowledgeable with all aspects of his kitchen. You can tell that he's a chef that really cares about what he does. So glad my family and I discovered this place. We had beignets, coffee, and gelato. Everything we had was great. Can't wait to go back.

Love the setting....it was a gorgeous day and so nice to sit outside and enjoy it between the rain showers this winter. The little bit of everything menu is one of my favorites b/c I can never decide on what I want - so why not get a little bit of everything.

Except the cinnamon roll. A giant swirl of carbs with a mound of sweet icing on top. I don't even like cinnamon rolls but I couldn't pass it up. But I should have. It was hard, too hard for the plastic forks to penetrate. The icing is odd....it's more like a cream cheese icing and just didn't sync up palette-wise. I had to eventually pass on the roll and let the other at the table figure out how to eat something that should be warm. Oh yeah, they don't warm it up. It comes as is, from a display cabinet.

The cherry/rhubard pie was A M A Z I N G. And THIS item was warm and perfect. It wasn't too sweet and the outside crust was perfect...like a McDonald's cherry pie on steroids. I would recommend this item to everyone.

The Vietnamese coffee was S T R O N G, almost stronger than the ones you get in Bellaire. It hit the spot and would be something I'd drop by to order.

Would I visit again....not sure. I'm glad I tried it though.

Great local business. Love the fresh roasted coffee and great comfort food. Customer service was outstanding. Got to sit outside under the large oak trees and enjoy the fall weather.

U Yea!!! Tator tots with green chili queso and a bloody mary. outdoor seating only. Coffees are great with sweet or savory fried pies.

Over rated expensive, I don't understand the reviews. Coffee is okay, but sadly the cashier was NOT friendly, I stood waiting for our order, it was uncomfortable. ONLY outdoor seating so beware. Traffic noise is a real thing.

Perfect little coffee shop with outdoor seating, pet friendly and great food. Clean bathroom and friendly staff makes you feel very welcome.

Oh my goodness it's no lie, this is where to go for some damn fine coffee and fried pie!!
...but they also have some damn fine baked with love from scratch goodies on the counter... if your lucky.
...I could taste the love in everything we had.
I'll go on to say they were some damn fine folks behind the counter this morning as well!

This is my 3rd time here, great coffee and atmosphere. We ordered 2 coffees and a cinnamon roll, they gave us our table marker and we waited outside. They let us know our coffee and food will be brought to us. 30 minutes later and we're still waiting. I go inside and our coffee and food is sitting on the counter. We were handed the food with no explanation. A little frustrated because I really like this place, but our experience today has left a bad taste in my mouth.

the service was okay, i asked the lady taking our order what drinks she recommended and what was a good sweet drink and she gave answers that weren’t clear, seemed like she just wanted us to get our order done even though we had never been before 🥲

I've come here a couple times with the wifey. The coffee is some of the best I've ever had, and the meat pies are phenomenal. The people running the place are pretty awesome too. Very highly recommended!
