My favorite coffee house in town. There's always things going on here in the evenings. Staff is great and the atmosphere is both cozy and laid back. Outdoor seating is pleasant when weather allows. The garden is well landscaped and the artwork mixed in with the plants are great. Also? The Mexican jumping mouse coffee is the best! Just sayin'...

Funky and delicious. Ordered a fancy coffee for my wife and she loved it I asked for a large black coffee and the cool pink haired barista looked at me like I had two heads but the other barista just smiled and said... "I like your style". Refills are lower priced, plenty of room to talk and hang out, great music and a lot larger building than we thought.

My girlfriend and I go here a couple times a week. It has a hipster feel to it (which I'm not big on) but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a huge beer selection if you want something to do in the evening. We typically go early in the morning and play ping pong while we have some coffee before work. Would strongly recommend!

Never feel more at home than when I'm here. I don't live in San Marcos anymore unfortunately, but when I'm town, I ALWAYS stop by. There's no other coffee shop like this one -- I've looked, extensively, but none compare. From the art to the music, to the great selection of drinks and goodies...everything is just pristine. This is a home away from home. Thank you for being around. ❤️

FIRST OF ALL, parking SUCKS here, there's like 12 spots total, many customers had to park in the street or by the residential areas. Coffee/Food is overpriced for the quality, the indoor seating is limited and very awkwardly spaced; there are too many couches and not enough tables. Outdoor seating is nice, but not at night since there is very little light. Workers/Baristas were very rude, a friend and I walked in, sat down outside and when we came inside for better seating and light, they YELLED at us to buy something or get out since they were "packed at the moment". We were going to purchase drinks as soon as we found a spot TO SIT. Ended up leaving. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN.

It's an amazing spot with great Barristas and tasty coffee. They have a lot of other drinks and food too! I love the theme and the ambience is always chill. Nice sized outdoor patio with plenty of tables.

Fantastic coffee and a unique atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating. Female baristas were friendly and proactive. The tall slender male barista however made some of my friends uncomfortable.

Tasty baked goods, always displaying awesome local art on the walls. Their “Jumping Mouse” coffee is absolutely tasty and will give you the coffee rush you need. As a realtor in town, this is a great place to have a quiet chat with friends or clients.

Ever since it opened, I've been diving into my favorite SM coffee joint. It'll make you jumpy, quicker than a tigger on a sunny day. Great events. Fun, loving staff. Always the best artists. When I leave San Marcos for a while and comeback, I always love stopping by Wake the Dead to rekindle my love for this town.

Super chill coffee shop with a gorgeous plant filled patio. They also serve craft beer and have a selection of handmade artisan items. Food items are limited, but they have pastries and I think a couple of basic sandwich options. Nice place to meet up with friends or get some studying done.
