The barista who helped me today was wonderful. I wish had gotten her name. Great, varying menu, the perfect, relaxing atmosphere, etc. I love how involved they are in the San Marcos community, though. That's a big part of why they're so great. Great place to relax and meet people.

This was my FAVORITE place to study while living in San Marcos. I have gone back many times since I graduated. The shop is so inviting and eclectic and the epitome of college town coffee house. The art on the walls is all by local artists. The tables and chairs are a collection of odds and ends. The staff is friendly and goofy. The food and coffee is excellent. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart.

This is hands down one of the BEST coffee shops in San Marcos. The people that work their are always friendly and inviting.
The reason that I deducted a star is that they have had an influx in people that go to Wake the Dead over the past few years and their seating is not growing. If you are a student, you need to get there super early in order to find adequate seating.

I've enjoyed going to this coffeehouse for almost 10 years. The skeletal mascot and whimsical ambiance are charming, the outdoor courtyard is lovely, and the staff are always so friendly and happy to make thoughtful menu recommendations for the undecided. I encourage everyone to try their iced toddy; the best local cold brew available in my opinion. The cupcakes with rich and creative flavors are also another guilty pleasure!
They host live music and local art regularly, as well as holding themed nights for writing, movie watch parties, and more. Now that they've expanded their parking lot, it's much easier to swing by in the mornings or on a lunchbreak. Definitely check them out!

I love the outdoor patio! Covered tables, nice plants and decorations... bit in the winter it gets a little chilly. So, either plan to stay inside, or bundle up and grab one of their delicious brewed coffees and head to the patio!

Wonderful atmosphere, cool events, great coffee and food, very reasonable prices.

This place is so quirky and neat. It looks like the inside was converted from an old 1960s home, with a couple of large separate rooms. There are comfy couches, an eclectic set of skull and theatre decor, and of course, their crowning glory, the coffee. Their plan drip brews are great, their artistic lattes are phenomenal, and they have an interesting, diverse array of Italian soda flavors. This is a great place to come with friends, find inspiration, or to work on a laptop.

Great coffee, super friendly folks!!! Great events like Halloween kid and parent friendly outdoor fun.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The coffee is below par and the service is TERRIBLE. The most disgusting and rude attitudes of anywhere I’ve ever been. They are degrading, mock their customers and have no remorse afterwords. Their character more than shines through and not in a good way! Very disappointed with the way paying customers are treated. I would NOT recommend wasting your money!

Very chill hangout spot with good coffee and a variety of teas to choose from. Staff is always friendly and likes to tell a joke. Events are held here frequently for the social ones among us. I really appreciate having a Cafe au lait on the menu. It's my favorite drink and very reasonably priced.
