Such a clam and peaceful environment with a lovely atmosphere that radiates a warmth i cannot quite describe. The acoustics are amazing with very great music being played and a lovely projector showing anime. Great coffee and great customer service.

Walked into the business and there were at least 10 people sitting inside at tables with no masks on. I did not have a mask and approached the counter to order some coffee. Before I could even reach the counter the girl at the register asked me across the room if I had a mask. I said “no, I don’t” and looked around the business at all the people without masks on. She then said I needed a mask to order and offered me a mask from behind the counter. I asked her if she was serious and then looked around the room again at all the people now staring at us. She said yes. I turned around and left.
This review is to address the wokeness and virtue signaling that apparently is more important than customer service and not publicly embarrassing potential patrons. If you’re going to be open and allow people to dine in your establishment and eat and drink with no mask but require a mask to walk to your register to order, you’re not concerned with health, it’s WOKE theater. If the place was “Togo only” I would kinda understand. It’s not. There is nothing scientific or health conscious about making people wear a mask to walk 10 steps and place an order, only to remove it once they sit down at a table.

Nice, quiet coffee shop right off the square. Great place to study as it is not a long walk from campus. They have many unique drinks that I have not seen at other shops, and also offer two different types of espresso which is very nice.

I love Stellar Café! The baristas there are friendly, laid-back, and really good at what they do. Savoy is awesome and he makes the best frappe I've ever had. This is definitely a place to go hang out and get a great cup of coffee. My favorite is the Show Boat. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet with a variety of seating areas to read, study, or catch up with friends. I definitely recommend this place. They also have nice bathrooms which is always a plus.

Love this place! Currently trying to visit all the coffee shops in San Marcos but I always seem to come back to this place. They do a great deal at night where coffee is half off until closing time and their rewards system keeps me coming back. I enjoy waking up early and getting to study here.

Stellar is a chill coffee shop with good coffee (espresso drinks). They don't harass you with country music like the place that I walked out of before coming here, but blanket the place with low and unobtrusive jazz that mercifully isn't of the "smooth" variety. The atmosphere is relaxing, there is a mix of tables large enough for two or a laptop, a decent amount of accessible electrical outlets, and several seats of the more cushioned variety. Improvements would be in the form of adding solid fare to the cafe's offerings. Or, if they already offer food, making it apparent.

Great location, service, and atmosphere. If they're serving Flat Track (Austin) or Edison (Dallas), you're getting the best cup of coffee you can in San Marcos.

I personally think that Stellar Cafe offers the best coffee in San Marcos. They care about the quality of their beans, where the coffee comes from, and switch out options often to allow a fun change to the menu for their pour over coffee. This is also the only location that I know even offers pour over coffee in SM. The only reason I don't frequent it as often is because despite the amount of furniture now made available I feel that only half of it is of a good sturdy quality, there are only one or two tables that allow you to truly spread out your materials and work on things, and I find myself scouting for a table that will allow me to cross my legs under. Many are very low to the ground or thick. I am also constantly concerned about the parking situation and whether or not my car will be towed after two hours unless I park close and can watch it from within the venue. I hope Stellar keeps getting business because they have the best coffee in SM!

When I walked into the Stellar Cafè, the first thing that hit me was the feeling that I was being watched by everyone that was already in there. Soon after, however, I smelled the coffee. Unlike many of the coffee places in San Marcos, you can enjoy the smell of coffee throughout your entire visit. While the hardwood floors and the door squeak gave me the feeling that I would be judged for stepping any further, the rest of the atmosphere was very welcoming. With swing music playing and soft lights, I was able to get over the idea that others were watching me the entire time. The community seems to keep to themselves at this location, and that makes it easy to go in and focus on perhaps a meeting or a reunion with a preferred party without the fear of somebody coming to talk to you, and that's one thing that I can appreciate. When I got,to the counter I was greeted by a very polite barista, and I was delighted for this reason to sign up for their rewards program. I ordered a specialty drink called the Humdinger, and placed my stuff down on a small chair next to a bookshelf with some decorations on it. It seemed to be very cozy and would be perfect for winter months. Of course, coffee shops typically are. I was given plenty of time to walk around and look at some of the art and other decorations that they had, and fell in love with a small clock that was above the bar. I admit that I have a weakness for fancy looking clocks. When my drink was ready I made an audibly delighted noise, because I had never seen a coffee drink served from a clear glass mug before. It was beautiful, and I almost didn't even want to partake in drinking any of the beverage because of how much I wanted to just continue looking at it. Of course, I did end up taking a sip; however, not before I took a photo of the drink still being full in the glass. I will say, that if not for anything else, this beverage could be the one reason that I were to find myself at the Stellar Cafè. It was remarkably sweet, but not so much that it overwhelms you. It's frothy, thick, and very wholesome, and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Once you finish your beverages, you can place your things in the tub that they have readily available for any dirty dishes that you may have used. On my way out, I noticed a sign that read "Patio this way." I decided to go and see whether or not it was worth it to enjoy your drinks on the patio, and decided that it wasn't. It's a good place to hang out afterward, but it's not exactly the right place for drinking coffee. Its better to stay inside with that and go to the patio later to enjoy the rest of the time with your friends or family. This is a fantastic coffee shop, and the best in San Marcos. I recommend it to everyone in the community. Students of TX State, tourists, and other locals that find themselves in the area. I would say that if there is any downfall at all, it's the quiet nature of the place; however, I think that the drinks and the atmosphere are a great distraction and reason as to why the community seems to be so reserved. A perfect place to have a meeting and to enjoy incredible beverages. Five stars, and a 10/10. I will certainly be going back, and I urge everyone else to do the same.

I love this place! It's conveniently placed in the heart of town and the coffee is out of this world! I also love their tea selection. A great place to recharge or get some work done. If you haven't been to Stellar Cafe you should!
