Stellar Coffee Co.

Stellar was the first place that felt homey to me when I first moved to San Marcos! I love this coffee shop, but I stopped coming here because of a terrible experience I had with the barista Jalen!
One day I came in and ordered a hot drink, but he made it iced (no big deal). I said politely “sorry but I wanted it hot” and he had an unfriendly attitude. Then, the next customer was a very pretty girl, and guess what, he was super nice all of the sudden (wow like magic)! I don’t wanna assume he’s a f*ckboy, but gosh, he sure acts like one! It’s whatever though, I love seeing people’s true colors! Of course, when he finishes making my drink, it’s half full! Normally, I’m a “glass half-full” kind of person, but this one made me sad :(
I used to be a barista myself, so I never treat any customer service worker badly because I know how stressful the work is (even when they’re rude)!
But here’s the funny part! I’ve mentioned to at least 5 different people why I don’t go to Stellar anymore and they all told me they also had a bad experience with Jalen! I don’t understand why they don’t just fire him, considering he’s so disrespectful and unfriendly. How are you supposed to enjoy a nice café if there’s someone killing the good vibes?
It’s all good though! The happy ending is I go to The Coffee Bar now! Everyone is friendly there! I found my new homey place ♥

Best Carmel frappe ever

A perfect coffee shop. Everything on the menu is good. The Spiced Mocha is the best mocha I've ever had, not too sweet but lots of flavor. Plenty of seating next to outlets. Staff is friendly and knows coffee well. Hope I'm back in San Marcos again to get more!

The coffee here is pretty great. I've become addicted to their take on Vietnamese iced coffee. They only take cards and not cash, though, so that's a bit annoying. I also wish they had outdoor seating under their awning as well as the indoor seating they offer.

Amazing local business, choose your bean/blend, and your brew method, lists different flavors beans have in the menue, other small snacks like cookies pies etc. Staff was very friendly and they stay open late during finals weeks for students. Also hot coco is absolutely amazing! Great joint if you're a coffee snob or even if you're just a fan of the cafe aesthetic it's a nice place in town to visit. Thank you so much for the amazing experience!

Not much of a coffee drinker, but the hot chocolate was amazing. And yes I gave it 5 stars because when you enjoy something you enjoy it. The staff was friendly and upbeat. Great atmosphere, and the music is jazzy so nothing to complain about there. Very nice and organized as well.

I really love their stellar mocha <3 coming here for 6 years, it never fails to impress me. Even after the new design and staff, the baristas are friendly and the environment is relaxing. Shout out to Emily for being a friendly Barista, she is the best :D

Nice little shop, well maintained, cute, but I was not a fan of the espresso taste. Great little shop though, might be an off day!
