This is a great coffee shop. I love their lattes with handmade syrups. Very smooth and not too sweet. They just opened an outside seating area that is casual and seats quite a few people.

The perfect place to study and relax!! You can definitely taste the farm fresh ingredients compared to other competitors! Their vanilla latte with almond milk is my favorite along with a pop tart! Thank you Modern Well for being a place where the community can come together.

I had been wanting to try this place for over a year. I went in one Saturday, an hour before they closed. I asked for a vanilla latte in a mug to enjoy while I sat in the shop and the barista came out with a disposable cup and said that they close in an hour so that’s why I got a disposable cup. 🙂 my first experience seemed rush. And it made no sense and made it a bad experience. The young guy at the cash register was so kind though.

I absolutely adore this little coffee shop! The coffee is as amazing as the staff, and you can never go wrong with anything on their menu (my favorite is the dirty chia). The people there are all so nice and treat everyone so well and the environment is so welcoming you’ll never want to leave.

Love this little coffee shop! Great atmosphere and fantastic coffee. They have my favorite iced latte. I am not a fan of sweet coffee drinks, but their homemade syrups have changed my mind!

This is great little hole in the wall in the middle of Rowlett and is tucked into a nice little downtown area. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the coffees they use and more than willing to answer any questions I had. I'm guessing they have Wi-Fi, as there were a couple people inside using their laptops for some type of work/school, but it is a little shop, so only a few tables inside. All in all, on the staff alone, I'd recommend this place. The coffee itself was definitely bold and pretty good and I believe the brand on it was Omen. Had a typically strong cold brew with notes of dark chocolate and dried fruits, but there were also 2 other notes to it, making for a different taste. This coffee came from the USA, according to the gentleman I spoke with at the coffee shop, but I cannot locate the brand with a Google search, so might have remembered it wrong.

Painful experience. Wow.
Coffee is okay, a little on the sweet side for a pour over, but my gosh that was a depressing visit. No smiles, no conversation, no engagement. When I worked at a cafe my favorite part was getting to know people, talking and engaging in them so they would want to come back.
I waited an excruciatingly long time for that pour over and no smiles or anything. Blah. Never coming back. Lighten up people! Crank up the music and make it a happy experience.
Also over heard the male barista tell a customer not to buy a scone because they’re dry..yikes!

No one wears masks, including baristas! I would’ve given 5 stars, but due to the safety of our community and families I do not recommend going. Their coffee isn’t work the risk.

I saw this coffee shop on my maps and got super excited to finally see good coffee in Rowlett. I was beyond excited to be able to go somewhere other than Starbucks and Scooter’s AND they carried Onyx (my personal favorite.) I walked in and was immediately disappointed to see that only one other person was wearing a mask. The barista did not have a mask and not only that– he was coming UP CLOSE to customers.
There were no signs anywhere to wear a mask, no social distancing guidelines in place, NOTHING. I can’t even comment on the coffee because I was far too angry to even drink it.
Absolutely disappointing. Why should I care to support YOUR local business when you can’t even put simple precautions in place to keep ME your customer safe? I will not be returning, but I hope you take a look at the rising COVID cases and consider changing your policy, at least for your staff at minimum.
We all have to think about our COMMUNITY, that's what coffee is supposed to be about and it is definitely not an example set by your employees. Get it together if you plan to stay around.

Just checked this place out and love it! It's about time that Rowlett got a legit local coffee establishment that's not Starbucks. I love the big chains as much as the next person, but The Modern Well is exactly what Rowlett has been missing. Not only was the cold brew good, but the staff was very friendly. Also has decent parking. Definitely going back!
