Good old fashion hamburger with lots of fries and free drink refills. You'll need about 24 napkins to get the grease off your hands. That's the way burgers were in the 50's & 60's. I'll be returning soon. Love it.

I've eat at Ray's since the 70s. I had a trout basket and it still taste like it did back then. Love ❤️ this place!!!

Took my 86 year old Mother to lunch here today. Very disappointed, it seemed like almost 15 minutes before we got our food. Other people were coming in after us, and getting their food before us. When we finally got our food, the fries were not hot, neither was our burgers. What they call their large fries were surprisingly small. We ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers, 1 large fries, 1 beer, and a medium root beer. $23.77 for barely warm burgers and fries. What a difference from 3 years ago. This is truly a way to ruin your business, cheaper quality and higher prices. Next time I will go to Zesty Burger or even better "Butcher Boy's" in Nacogdoches Tx!

Ray’s is the hometown greasy burger place. They’ve been in business for about 60years. The hamburger meat is fresh daily, so there’s no frozen patties, but the trimmings are always lacking. The lettuce and tomato are always “wilted,” so to speak, and they get orders wrong more times, than not, but we keep going back because the burgers are really good!

Everyone in Lufkin knows that this is the best burger joint in town. There's a reason its been around like 70 years. Everything is good but we go for burgers. My husband likes the Western burger and I get the Texas Ranch burger. Grab a chocolate malt too. You can park and eat, go inside or call in an order. We LOVE Rays!

I just moved to Lufkin and my coworker recommended Ray's for a good burger. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at here and they didn't let me down. The ladies at the register greeted me so friendly and got me in and out. I had the Ray's special and it was delicious!! I couldn't finish the whole thing, it was well worth the money. I will definitely be back to try more items.

I like the fact that they've been there for years and are old fashioned. It's an experience out of the ordinary. The cheeseburgers were large and were tasty. However, then you have to add the fries or onion rings. The portioning on the large sides makes them overpriced especially when they're not that great. On the cold side and onion rings had little taste. For two cheeseburgers, two large sides, two drinks (one a kid's drink) and a kid's meal it will cost you nearly $30.

Good customer service. Sometimes a little wait time to order and cost is a little higher than other businesses But they have awesome fish and trout baskets not to mention their double cheeseburger The Ray's Special and homemade onion rings.. Yummy

I've lived in Lufkin for 10 years and this was my first time eating at Ray's, and I'm very sorry I missed out all these years. We went on a Saturday evening and it was packed so I prepared for it to take a while to get service. Within seconds of being in line to order a guy came up with an " old timey" order pad, we placed our order, and a couple of minutes later was at the register to pay. While waiting on our food I had a chance to really check out the place. The red "leather" seats and booths make me think of what a 50's diner would've possibly looked like, and on the walls seemed to be a lot of motorcycle and car type of things (street signs, license plates, old pictures, etc), I did only view a small section. I loved the decor and it seemed very clean, which was surprising because of how busy they were. Also, they are still an actual "Drive-In" with numerous stalls that were hopping the whole time we were there which was cool. Our food was ready in probably 7 minutes tops. I ordered the jalapeno ranch burger and onion rings which was amazing! Messy, but the best burger I've ever eaten. The burger was huge. The only way I got close to finishing it was because I only able to eat a couple of onion rings, which were also delicious. My husband had the steak finger basket which he said was delicious. Our whole experience was wonderful, and we couldn't have received faster, friendlier service anywhere else in town. There's a reason they've been open this long. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend Ray's to anyone looking for (I guess) fast food type foods that are homemade with a better atmosphere.

That same basic place in every ol town. Good food and you know what to expect. Nothing on the menu jumps out
