Ordered a seafood cocktail/salsa & chips, and the salsa was sugery sweet which is horrible for salsa, but when paired with fishy tasting shrimp, it's horrible. Husband ordered snapper with polenta which was unimpressive, and the polenta looks like vomit. But, the most disappointing was my fish & chips which I assumed couldn't be messed up since we were trying this place for the first time. Wrong. The fries were okay but not the freshest. But the fish tasted like it was battered in Aunt Jemima's pancake batter. Why would you ever have a sugary fish batter? The only thing I tried that *was* good was the coleslaw, and I am not a coleslaw fan. Tasted fresh, and unlike my fish & fries, it actually had some seasoning. Read the 1 star review about the lack of seasoning. That is 100% our experience. I'd have been more satisfied with a $2.50 pretzel from Target which I considered grabbing but wanted to wait for dinner. Place is pretty. Desserts look good which I don't find surprising since the chef clearly has a thing for sugar. Won't be back.

Cookies always great. I had a Hamburger it was average at best. I heard the salads are good. A little pricey, but the locals like to meet up here.

This is a very comfortable and unique place to eat. The menu has sandwiches, burgers, salads, desserts and the selection is great. There is a nice patio area to dine in and plenty of room on the inside too. The employees are very hospitable. The food was fantastic and I will be making many more trips the this establishment in the future.

Great place! Atmosphere leads one to believe that The Local could be a fine dining establishment, requiring a specific attire in order to eat there.. However, they welcome any and all patrons (beach attire or professional attire. It doesn't matter).
Service was excellent! We were waited on by Meghan, who was covering two opposite areas of the restaurant, and did an outstanding job. She was attentive, warm, fun and friendly, and didn't seem to be flustered by her current situation at all. In fact, the hostess assisted Meghan by bringing us water, place setting and asking what we would like to drink. It's not everyday where you see the host staff and the wait staff working as a team.
We initially order the artisan bread and herb butter. Bread was hot! Butter was incredible! Probably could've made a meal out of those, but we were eager to try other items. My wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, with mashed potatoes, green beans and cream gravy. I ordered the Cajun Penne Pasta with chicken, sausage and sun dried tomatoes (with extra sauce). The portions were surprisingly large (doggie bags were needed). The Chicken Fried Steak was some of the best we have tasted! Green beans cooked perfectly. Potatoes were creamy, soft, but firm and delicious. The cajun pasta was probably some of the best I have ever had! We asked Meghan to give our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff.
The meal was priced very reasonably. The staff - Warm and friendly. Great atmosphere. Food - excellent! All in all, The Local was outstanding!! We will definitely be back.

Had a half & half salad (simple green) and their soup of the day (chicken pablano) and tea for a total of $12.23. Their ranch dressing was good. I prefer blue cheese which they did not have. The other choice dressing was a balsamic vinaigrette. It was all very tasty.

The restaurant itself is great, the food is great. But the service is bad. Train your servers to be friendly and helpful to everyone at the table. Had a server who ignored me and only spoke to my husband while at the table. It was very rude. I asked her for the dessert menu and she brought it back to him and told him all about the dessert. When she asked if we were doing okay she only addressed him. Refills? Only asked my husband. She came at the end to only ask my husband if he would like a to go cup. It was almost laughable it was so bizarre. I have never been treated that way at any restaurant ever. It was quite disappointing considering The Local was one of our favorite spots.

Ordered the wednesday special of the day and had a great burger. It was cajun slaw, onion rings, and a few other ingredients. Was delicious. Would happily eat here again.
Staff was courteous and quick. One saw me waiting and immediately took my order. Another grabbed my trash from.me on the way out and took care of cleaning up.
Just what I was looking for on my lunch trip!

This food is as basic as it can get. Great place if you are recovering from surgery and your doctor recommends to avoid foods with any flavor or spice. The hamburger is served between 2 slices of pound cake or some sort of sweet couch cushion. I am not sure what angle they were going with that combo. The place is very well kept and it will make a great museum or library when this place closes if they dont shape up...

Disappointing Dinner. We periodically visit the Local for lunch and have not had complaints. Dinner this evening, was another story. Service for taking our order was S L O W. Service for bringing the cocktails was S L O W. Service for preparation and delivery of the meal was S L O W. Bar knowledge was definitely limited. Vodka martini with "twist of lemon" arrived as vodka martini with 1/2 round of lemon slice garnished on the side of the glass. We received three visits to our table by hostess and server with apologies and excuses for WHY our meal was delayed. Wife's chicken marsalla was definitely overdone to the point of being shoe leather (dry and tough). My fish and chips fell apart so I was able to eat crumbly fish and breading separately. The only reason I am giving a 3 star rating is because there is not a 2-5/8 star rating available. The Local needs to stick with what they know.....lunches, or bring more focus to the dinner service!

Great service and tasty food! The tamale cakes are worth the wait for the appetizer. Get the Cajun pasta or fish tacos. 😋
