Absolutely amazing! The décor is brilliant and unique. Great rooms at a great price. Friendly and great hospitality.

Near the lake but no place to put boats in. Rooms were nice and well kept. Only saw the service once, but the rooms were always clean upon arrival. Our room had a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, tv, 3 rooms and a nice living space. It also had dining utensils and bedding. Overall good experience

We stayed in the beautiful Eastwood cabin. Right by the restaurant. Coffee shop was great. Only downside, no wifi!

Edit: some pics are from red caboose, which we stayed in last year. It was cute but hot.

Stayed in the texas writers suite which is in the hotel itself, upstairs facing west. The balcony is phenomenal! Room is a two room suite, Very comfortable couch, chairs, smaller tv in first room and then king bed and bath in other room. Just loved the antique nature of everything. The room has three sinks which is quirky, but apparently appropriate for the time.
The bed is on the harder side, but that's the kind I like, so it was great - the pillows were just not up to par with even the lower priced chains - every hotel has great pillows now, these should be improved.
Saturday night, around 11pm, the bar across the street, which I think has some affiliation with the hotel, decided to play some great music on the patio. That would have been great to listen to, but most of us were asleep and several of us were woken up (stayed with a group and others were staying in other rooms)
That might not have been the hotels fault, but it did affect our enjoyment and might happpen during your stay. The weather was nice and cool, so we slept with all of the transom windows open which certainly made the loud music much less tolerable.
I'd for sure stay again and maybe try one of the larger "cabin" accommodations.

Service: phenomenal! Rooms: clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and the bed was so comfortable. The Antlers is situated on Lake LBJ, with 2 different areas for guests to fish, park their boats, swim, or just take in the sunset while sipping a glass of wine. A must stay when you're in this little quaint town.

Nice historic hotel, and the train cars are a nice place to stay... For a night. The lack of useful wifi coupled with no cell phone coverage makes basic things like meeting up with friends in the area or finding dinner unnecessarily frustrating.

My wife and recently stayed here for our anniversary. Everything was amazing and it was the perfect getaway! The staff at the inn and Grand Central Cafe made us feel very special! Can't wait to come back!!

My friend and I took a 1 night vacation to see the real Texas chainsaw massacre house, then to see the one they used in the movies. Our room was actually outside the house in a train car that had been remodeled to be a hotel. The train was very spacious and included a bedroom area, a kitchen, a living room area with bunk beds, and bathroom. There was also this neat area where you could climb up to see out of the windows. Its next to a river where the boats come free with the room. We had a blast in this small town and the scenery was beautiful.

Our one night stay was not enough time at this hidden gem of an inn. My stepson, 3 daughters, & I spent the night in one of Antler Inn's cottages
