Clear River Ice Cream, Bakery & Deli

This was a fun place! Walking into the store your instantly stepping into a 1950s carnival. There were over 20 flavors of ice cream and so many cookies, brownies, and other gooey treats to pick from. There’s a ice cream parlor in Cibolo Texas (Scoop at the Mill) serves their ice cream, but coming to original shop was a treat all its own. We are and our ice cream and grabbed some cookies to back home as gifts.

Great ice cream, a great way to cool down on a hot stroll down Main Street. I got a cookies and cream affagato and the espresso tasted amazing.

Terrible service I know it's January 1 but we're not to blame for the workers coming in badly. I was served by a skinny short lady with blonde hair and glasses and she threw my cone at me if we're paying for a service I threw it at her and she turns around mocking I never behaved rudely. I asked him for a cone from a spoon and he gave me about 3 and when I told him that it was only one I threw the ice cream back and he served me another with the cone all broken from when I threw it and when it was given to me. The lady who was behind me told me to ask to speak to the manager because she had been very rude, but the truth is, I was not interested in talking to the manager. I don't like to make problems, but I think they should train their staff to be more respectful to customers.

LOVED the pumpkin pie ice cream (with ginger cookie pieces) and the bakery items are so good - and reasonably priced! We went on a Monday afternoon and the place was full.

Great old fashion soda you fountain feel. Lots of tasty ice cream flavors. They also have hot or cold sandwiches, salads and soups, and sweets.

I haven’t done any reviews on Fredericksburg restaurants, due to nothing being exceptional or terrible. A lot of restaurants here are overpriced and the quality of product can be lacking. That being said, Clear River is amazing! Excellent choice of flavors, extremely fair pricing and the ice cream is phenomenal. You can truly taste both the freshness and individual components of the ice cream here. The cherry vanilla and chocolate turtle ice cream were both flawless, we will be back again tomorrow!

Really love this place. It is like a step back in time to a simpler time. Love the ice cream and they have excellent food. The service is above board. They have great movies and amazing food. There is nothing there I have tried that was bad. It is a great family friendly place. We took our family from out of town and they loved it. It was a great place to go to with the whole family. Can't wait to go again. One hint: try the ice cream cookies. They make the most moist cookies. The cost is comparable to most soda fountains. Try it out!!
