I love to support local businesses that appreciate their customers and good food. We were in the area and stopped in. I would definitely recommend.

Not very inviting if you're from out of town. They did have a wine fridge with bottles available for purchase to take home so that was a win!

On Barley Beanā€™s menu on their website they say they can make any dish vegan. I then ordered on Uber Eats. I ordered the Mighty Burrito and selected vegan bacon. There was no button to select to modify entire burrito to vegan, nor any other buttons to remove or subsitute the non-vegan items and to replace with vegan items. I wrote in the special instructions ā€œvegan pleaseā€ and then in the order note for them to call me if theyā€™re unable to make this burrito vegan so I can choose something else. I received the burrito and it seemed to not be vegan. I called and the person who answered said theyā€™re unable to see my special instructions nor my order note on their end. They said it had real eggs and cheese. I then double checked that I did in fact include those notes in my order, and I had.

Besides that the burrito was cold despite the time to order and time to arrival was 30 minutes. The Uber Eats driver was very fast. The preparation was suspiciously quick, but itā€™s early so theyā€™re probably not too busy. Wrapping the burrito in tin foil instead of paper would help with retaining the food temperature.

All I can do is get a refund from Uber Eats. No remedy from the restaurant was offered directly.

What the restaurant can do to improve is:
1. Either remove on their website that they can make anything vegan OR add a vegan modifier button to their menu items on Uber Eats.
2. Fix the backend issue that causes their staff to be unable to read special instructions and order notes OR train their staff on how to use the UberEats tablet/app/POS to read those notes OR remove the option for special instructions entirely from their Uber Eats restaurant page. If I didnā€™t have the option to include special instructions, I would have chosen a menu item that was already vegan and not modified one.

I know other restaurants can read special instructions. So this ultimately was their failure that has a variety of remedies. As someone in the service industry for a decade, it is disappointing when you call and are met with a response thatā€™s basically ā€œitā€™s not my fault. Tough luck.ā€ I know they canā€™t refund Uber Eats on their end, but just a little effort at customer service would be appreciated. Such as, ā€œIā€™m sorry. I donā€™t know why I canā€™t see those notes. Iā€™ll talk to a manager about it and see what we can do to avoid this happening again in the future.ā€

I might stop in there to eat one day but I will never order them for delivery again.

Update: Changing review to one star because the restaurant has not acknowledged this review. It was a dead end with Uber Eats to get a refund so Iā€™m out $20 on a meal I couldnā€™t even eat. The lack of response to this review is a clear indication of this companyā€™s low prioritization of customer service/satisfaction.

Quaint coffee shop that offers various types of food and smoothies. Great vegan/vegetarian selection of food..
They even serve alcohol which is an interesting take. If your really into "coffee shop culture" than this might not appeal to your taste. It's not really a coffee shop more of a sandwich shop that serves coffee but I get why they call themselves that.

The staff is friendly and the food is good. My pizza was a bit burnt and tasteless but edible and nothing to complain about. Not a fan of the coffee either but I'll go back and try something different.

It's a great little place and worth the 5 stars and yes I'll be back! šŸ˜Š

Great place to get a breakfast wrap n coffee although they also serve beer and wine. Food was good, coffee was good too but a little too smooth for me as I like a little bite similar to Starbucks dark roast. Not to say I didn't like it because I did! First time there so maybe I ordered wrong. Overall I would surely recommend.

I got the smoothie bowl and impossible sausage biscuit.

The smoothie bowl was had about 8 blueberries on top and the rest was granola. The granola did not taste well at all. Iā€™ve never had granola I didnā€™t like so that came as a surprise considering I love aƧaĆ and smoothie bowls. I think they would be better off taking it off the menu. Iā€™m also dissatisfied that it didnā€™t come with any other fruit aside from the blueberries and there werenā€™t very many. overall not good.

The impossible sausage biscuit was a bit better but not by much. The biscuit was really soft and crumbly. The JUST EGG patty they used is too big for the biscuit. Canā€™t really complain about the impossible patty, theyā€™re all pretty much the same. The saving grace was the chipotle sauce that came on the side but the crumbly biscuit kept falling in.

All and all, considering the price of these items and their lackluster presentation and terrible (smoothie bowl) taste. Iā€™m not coming back.

I got a hot lavender vanilla latte with oat milk - it was good! I gave two stars for the coffee, ambiance, and customer service. Unfortunately, I also ordered a Veggie Calzone with spinach, olives, garlic, and peppers. There was moldy vegetables inside of it. Very disappointing and gross. I would avoid getting food - stick to the coffee.

Food is sloppily made and overpriced for the quality/taste. The chicken was gamey. Brown lettuce on the wrap. Very few options.

I really did not enjoy eating here. Maybe it's better to-go, but wouldn't bet on it.

Also loud. Hard to hear staff.

No sweetener for the bitter, watery coffee.

Bad experience overall. Wouldn't go back.
