Belmar Bakery

We use to go to Ruffled Cup but wasn't satisfied after numerous tries. So we decided to try Belmar bakery and cafe and we had bought a few items and it was so amazing. We will be going here for our cakes n sweets from now on!!! Thank you so much.

My family had been going to Belmar Bakery for 30+ years. We used to recommend the bakery to everyone we know, because we never had a single problem... until about a year ago, last October, and again just today. "Three strikes and you're out" would be the appropriate phrase.
Last year, I ordered a coconut cake for my sister's birthday because that's what she wanted and always got, for many years. For some reason, they changed the recipe and added a lemon filling. I had not been told about this, so when I took it home, we cut into it and my sister was very upset. She threw it out... $40 wasted. I called and the lady on the phone told me that's how they've always made the coconut cake. I said I knew very well that it hadn't been made with lemon filling the previous 12 years we got it before. I asked for my money back and was hung up on. I called back and they said we must have gotten disconnected (sure). We got a new cake that was made how we always had gotten it, and we let it go.
Last October, my mother ordered non-decorated sugar cookies for Halloween. She was going to decorate them with her grandchildren and didn't mind having to pay $40 for them. She was very specific about what she wanted and the order was taken. When I picked them up for her, I opened the box and alas... freakin' decorated. I told the cashier that that wasn't what we ordered, and she got snippy with me. Good lord, whatever happened to customer service?! I was forced to take them, and my mother called and talked to the manager for nearly an hour. End result? We had to scrape them off ourselves because they couldn't make new cookies by the party the following day.
Finally... today. My mother ordered another coconut cake. Asked for no lemon filling. Was denied. Asked to have Happy Birthday written on it (like we have every year). Was told it couldn't be done with coconut on top. Asked if she could pay for it when she picks it up since she didn't have money deposited until the day of. Was given an attitude about that. Talked to a manager and was told that they couldn't make her happy and wouldn't take the order.
So, Belmar Bakery, my family will no longer be coming in. And I will be letting everyone we know to not go there. We will be going elsewhere and recommending our friends and family to the better bakeries in town.

Went here for lunch. Chicken salad was so delicious. Rhiannon was so awesome with my grandson and I. I placed an order with Carolee. Great customer service and answered all my questions. Very patient and friendly with this old lady. Thank you Belmar

I got a carrot cake today. Unfortunately was only able to eat one piece way to sweet. Seems like the whole cake was pure sugar. Very expensive carrot cake. Not even the kids could eat it just way to much sugar. An we got a couple of cookies an a raspberry cream cheese cake very small bits taken an in the trash it goes. They have no idea on how to make quality flavors come out without tons of sugar. Will never return. I could have just went to the grocery store an bought a bag of sugar would have been way cheaper!!!

I expect to have fresh cookies not FIVE day old ones. Not to mention the vulgar comments from the owner to our family. Notice how he did not address his quote in the review below. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Hands down the BEST bakery around! The iced sugar cookies are to die for! Their cakes are even better! They have tons of little pastries and breads and JAM! That's Good. Anything you get in there is awesome and they have great customer service.

This place is amazing. They've got everything! Everything is fresh and homemade. From breads, to cupcakes, to full tableside service breakfast & lunch. I've never been disappointed with any selection. Awesome breakfast and lunches. I go in for a full meal, a snack craving, a sweet tooth, or fresh cheese rolls to serve for dinner. They've got it and it's absolutely delicious!

So after I read the reviews before mine, I was hesitant to order from here. However, they just blew my mind. What the previous 2 reviews said is not what I experienced. Stephanie went out of her way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Being from out of town, they sent me pictures of what the final product would look like. Nowt that's going above and beyond. So, I am not sure what happened with the previous two reviews, but I can say without a shadow of doubt that they exceeded my expectations and I am going to always be a customer!! Again a huge shout out to Stephanie! Thank you all!!

Love their food and baked goods! A fun, light, casual atmosphere. A great Amarillo staple to take out of town family and friends to for lunch and a treat!

Pretty good place to come eat. Friendly staff quiet environment, it's a nice relaxing place to eat. The food was fantastic, my eggs were nice and fluffy the hash browns were perfectly crispy, and the French toast nice and cinnamony.
