Stopped in to get blizzards on the road. Wasn't the most friendliest place. However the job was done and we got our blizzards. It's fast food, nothing too exceptional for this visit

Management has changed and this location has seriously stepped up its game. It is much better than it was a year or even a few months ago, though it is experiencing growing pains with new employees.

Visited DQ around 7pm for some Ice cream, first time at Alpine so not sure if it's like that all the time. They were busy, but being that we ordered a cone and a blizzard it took a little more time than usual. Store was dirty, lots of flies in the restaurant, some dead on the window sill which made it look more unsanitary!
My dipped cone did not have the dq swirl and my husbands blizzard was not mixed well, ice cream on the bottom and cookies on the top!
There were flies...lots of them outside due to the trash not being cleaned and cleared, so they were all around the entrance, which in turn flew in every time they opened the door. I hope they are hosing down the front entrance and trash cans every morning to keep some of the flies away!
Again, first time there, maybe they were just having a bad afternoon, but I found the place to be very dirty and employees not very friendly!

Every fast food joint I stopped at in Alpine TX is awful and this place is no exception. The Taco Salad tortilla shell tasted like it was fried in really old cooking oil. The after taste was horrid. Remained in my mouth for hours afterwards and I was surprised I didn't get the runs. If you stop in this town pack a lunch or maybe check out some of the more upscale restaurants.

Nice service, good burgers, BUT they got our order completely wrong and charged us for a burger they didn’t give us. If you go, check your order.

I only gave one star as zero wasn't an option. This is the second time in the past two months that we've had really poor meals from this Dairy Queen. Tonight I left work bone tired and didn't feel like cooking, the wife really wanted the chicken strip basket and I settled for a double cheeseburger. When I got home and opened her chicken strip basket, I could tell that they were overcooked, not freshly overcooked, but sitting under the warming light for a long time overcooked, dry and tasteless, the french fries were undercooked, but sat under the warming light long enough to soak up the grease and make them inedible. When I opened the burger there was no cheese and the fries were horrid. Never again!!!

I have many great experiences visiting the Alpine Dairy Queen while returning home from a hunting trip or a weekend in Big Bend. However, my recent visit made me angry enough to post a comment. It wasn't the long wait that angered me, or the fact that everyone of our meals was wrong. My daughter has Celiac Disease, thus, she can't have any gluten in her diet. When we travel we meal prep for every day we are gone. On the way back from Big Bend during the Thanksgiving brrak, we decide to stop at Dairy Queen for a meal. We had a large group so we ordered 10 meals, excluding my daughter. Like most restaurants, they can't accommodate my daughter, so we take her meal and kindly ask if they can heat up her tray in their microwave. 99.99% of the time the restaurant has no problem as they understand that she can't eat their food. This kid, who I assume is the manager, told us that he will not allow his staff to heat up the food. Initially he couldn't give us a reason why. Then he told us that his microwave is too powerful, but we have been to far better establishments and it's never happened. Then we have an issue with our meals and he tells us he's off the clock and makes someone else handle it. We visit the Big Bend area multiple times a year and this will be the last time we ever stop for a meal at the Alpine Dairy Queen.

I'm sitting in the lobby eating my dinner while listening to the sirius xm music being broadcasted throughout the dining area. All at the same time the skull crushing rock mosh pitt music is being blasted from the kitchen as well. It's like a bad dream to wake up to....not sure who the heck is in charge but somebody needs their walking papers.

Was out of town on this one.Took too long to get our food, then when we received our dinners, chicken strips were overdone and the fries were cold. Want to add that I always get great service at our Dairy Queen in Lubbock.
