First time. Cappuchino was tasty and hot. Which is a 5. Only did a 4 because it's still hard to pay such a high price for coffee. I'd go everyday if I could afford it.

Nothing like a smiling face serving a piping hot cup of joe to get your day going! The staff at Mad Coffee & More ALWAYS treats me great - a friendly smile and a GREAT cup of coffee! Keep up the great work!

Mad Coffee and More is a nice, quiet coffee shop tucked into southern Abilene, and is a hidden oasis, serving some of the town's best coffee.
I'm an amateur connoisseur of coffee (or at least I am in my head), and I've been making my own coffee long enough to be able to judge a quality roast from a cheap one. I was impressed with Mad Coffee's house brews, and I think it's an absolute travesty that it's so often overlooked by Abilenians because of its somewhat obscure location.
However, due its lack of mass popularity, Mad Coffee cultivates a charming atmosphere that kids these days would likely refer to as "chill." I personally enjoy the quiet ambience that is so often sought after in coffee shops. I would go so far as to say that the coffee shop itself--its design, its atmosphere, the dΓ©cor--are more impressive to me than the coffee itself. Either way, I give Mad Coffee and More 5 stars. 10/10, would recommend.

I've gone there a few times now and my experience is always the same. Nice place but the coffee tastes like water. Last time I went I don't think there was any coffee I'm my drink. I'm pretty sure is was just chocolate milk.

My experience was terrible.
I ordered an iced latte with an extra shot. I was handed a VANILLA FRAP!
When I returned to the shop to get the correct drink the Batista did not even know what an iced latte was!!! WTF
How does one work at a coffee shop and not even know this basic drink; how are they training these employees?
After telling the Batista that a latte is simply milk and espresso she began to put cold brewed coffee in milk and hand it to me.
I proceeded to tell the Batista that a latte is milk and espresso. She seemed confused, which is absolutely baffling to me! The Batista had to get the owner!
The owner reminds me of a middle-aged southern white lady that has a wealthy husband and needs a hobby. Once i told the owner I wanted an iced latte she began to put cold-brewed coffee in milk. I had to once again reiterate that a latte is milk and espresso! The owner began to tell me that espresso and milk would taste sour. I was once again completely baffled. I work at a coffee shop, drink and serve this beverage everyday. The fat from the milk balances the acidity of the espresso. I believe she said this simply to cut costs by not using real espresso.
It seems implausible that the owner of a coffee shop does not know that a latte is milk and espresso. This leads me to believe that this coffee shop ...
*******IS NOT SERVING REAL ESPRESSO THEY ARE USING COLD BREWED COFFEE INSTEAD! IF YOU WANT REAL ESPRESSO DO NOT COME TO THIS COFFEE SHOP!*************
The owner began to justify her decision to use coffee instead of espresso by saying that coffee has more caffeine. That again is not true! How does this coffee shop not know what they are talking about?! GOOGLE IT! Coffee has 5 times less caffeine then espresso!!!!! (212mg caffeine espresso 40mg caffeine coffee) This proves once again they are either ripping people off or have no idea what they are talking about.
Even if somehow regular coffee did have more caffeine then espresso, if i asked for an iced latte should i not get espresso? Why is the owner arguing with me?!?!?!
My Dad got an americano from this place and it tasted over diluted. I did not see them actually make this beverage but, I am 99% sure that once again did not use REAL ESPRESSO for ESPRESSO BEVERAGES!
The customer base reminds me of republican middle-aged women with nothing better to do.
The ambiance was very awkward, when I came in Kid Rock was playing!
This Cafe' is a good example of what happens when wealthy middle-aged women opens a restaurant. She is cutting costs by not using real espresso, low quality, products, and terrible employee training. The coffee is not roasted locally, organic, or fair trade. I tried a cup of regular drip and it tasted overly acidic and sour. The soup is frozen then heated. I suppose you can get away with ripping people off by not giving them real espresso in Abilene because most customers may not know the difference. I like to support local coffee shops but this was offensive. The owner obviously does not care about her customers.
I hate Starbucks, but at least at Starbucks they give you real espresso they actually know the basics of coffee and (most baffling about Mad Coffee) the owner will not try to argue with you about facts that are not even correct.

Usually fine service. Today, my extra hot chai was barely warm. Will be back to try another time.
