The Matterhorn sandwich is absolutely amazing! If you like a little spice, you'll love it. Also, the everything cookie was really good! 3rd time here in one week! Customer service was great as well.

Cozy little coffee shop that doesn’t over charge for coffee

Really great place and great staff. This is what most people should expect from one of the finer coffee shops in Nashville. You can expect a great cup of Joe, a few shop specialty drinks, and just an overall not so snobby upper class coffee shop.
One of the things I really enjoy is a fairly altruistic staff which support the local poetry movement. They stay open extra late the first Saturday of every month for poets to hold their readings upstairs. The staff does so on their own volition...which says a little something about Portland East.

Cute cafe, good for working or catching up with friends. The mocha I got wasn't very sweet though, so I'd recommend asking for extra syrup or something if you have a sweet tooth.

Short wait for your order and the iced white mocha is really good. The service is excellent as well.

Im a regular and live a few blocks away. This has always been my favorite coffee shop in East Nashville , but my wife and I just received horrible customer service a few minutes ago. I think the baristas name was Patrick and he literally slammed our cookie on the table and walked away after we kindly reminded him that we had ordered it. And when I politely asked if it was possible to get a water with our latte he just stared at me and didn’t say a word. It was so contrary to the amazing customer service that we usually get there.

Oh you THINK you've had cold brew. I'm sure you have a tight 15 minutes worth of opinions about cold brew. This place will shut you up in a hurry. The staff is top notch, the location is convenient, the facilities are clean and welcoming, and did I mention the cold brew?

I'm not a coffee drinker but I get their coffee ground to keep for guests at our vacation rental and everyone raves about it. I personally love their unsweetened iced tea. I don't know what they do but it has almost a hint of a spice to it. I love their breakfast, too!

Gary always makes my visit to Portland Brew East the best. He not only knows what I want, we have conversations ill never forget. Gary makes me feel like I'm someone important, not just a customer. Gary has become a very good friend. And he makes the best coffee I've ever have. Love coming to Portand Brew!

Excellent coffee, great vibe, and perfect chill spot. Will be my new place to work and chill. Only issue I've had is that near closing time some of the employees really don't want to bother with customers.
