You won't find a better coffee shop anywhere in Knoxville. Friendly atmosphere, knowledgable staff and high quality coffee and pastries. My only complaint is the Internet can be very slow at times.

Wonderful coffee shop. Very fresh espresso and crafted nicely. Pastries were unique in flavor and tasted great! Friendly staff!

One of the best mochas I have ever had in my life. The one time I got coffee instead that was amazing too, but I'm too hooked on the mochas to really delve deeper into the menu. Oh - the pesto cream cheese on a bagel is pretty nice too. Though if you get both bagel and mocha your total will be 6.66 and you'll be forced to tip to avoid bad juju.

The staff were very nice to me, and the coffee was good. The raspberry scone I had was also tasty.
The atmosphere is comfortable and conducive for work. However, be aware that their wifi, though free, is very very *very* slow, particularly if there are a lot of UTK students present. As in I'm doing a remote ssh and I can type single characters, and wait several seconds for a response. And this is an ssh connection to Oak Ridge, so it's not exactly like I'm trying to remote into a server in Singapore. So, if you intend on using wifi, come prepared to tether from your phone.

For the true coffee lover!
The barista here was an absolute delight. Finally, an honest to goodness BARISTA that cares about the quality of what he puts out. I've been I knoxville all weekend ordering esspresso in every place a walked by with a machine, and this is the ONLY PLACE that properly dosed the coffee with a scale. I ordered a simple double shot and this guy took the time to TASTE and calibrate the shot. He must've made it five times. Each one looking at it, taste it, adjusting his tamp and what not until he saw a shot he was proud to serve. Thank you so much for putting the care and love back into esspresso!

Old City Java makes the best coffee in Knoxville. The baristas are skillful. I especially appreciate their steamed milk texture, which is why I usually get a cafe miel or latte. The environment is pleasantly subdued and perfect for reading or studying.

Very quaint nook in the old city. Super cute, and clean, really gets the creative mind flowing while you let the lovely lattes warm you up as the tasty flaky pastries tingle your taste buds <3

The oatmeal bar was amazing!

Definitely one of the best places for coffee in the area! The other best one would be the one that is owned by the same owners, Wild Love Bakehouse! Great owners and great staff! Amazing coffee!

Cozy and delicious, a nice place to hang out if you need to get a little work done or just want some peace and quiet while you read. Staff is friendly and they actually care about the health and safety of their customers ❤☕
