Maybe just my expectations are different. I craved a chocolate donut which I usually get at a different establishment. Since i live equidistant between Shirley's and the other famous donut place. I decided to try Shirley's. I didn't notice what I would equateto my chocolate donut but the person pointed at one and said that was a chocolate donut. It didn't look very chocolate-like. But I bought it anyway. One bite and I just could not finish. I tasted like died bread with drizzle. Maybe that is the difference between a donut and. Do-nut?

LOVE this Shipley’s! Donuts were great and employees were beyond kind. Will definitely be back!

I wanted to like this place, but I can’t. Good location, courteous staff, good design layout, but the most important thing you need to have in order to be a successful Donut store is, Good Donuts, and that’s where they fall short. The Donuts are just not very good. It’s probably the worse I’ve ever had and I’ve been to over 200 donuts stores throughout the Country.

Somewhat disappointing. The kolaches were thin on the pastry and overcooked. Guess I'm just used to the flagship in North Shore.

I've visited this location 3x. The first 2x had me hooked until my last visit. The overall appearance of the donuts and the failure of staff acknowledging me should have been enough for me to leave, but I gave it a try. The donuts taste horrible. I don't understand how were they so delicious on the previous occasions and disgusting on this occasion. Did the recipe change? I think I will go when the manager is present and the employees actually perform their job correctly.

Had my first experience at the Greenville location over 35 years ago. I’ve had them in Texas as well. The people that are complaining about these being different are mistaking. I’ve had other Shipley’s recently, it’s the same. The only thing I can think of is that some people are eating the donuts after they have been sitting out for a long while. About to head there now!

Absolutely not!!! I was excited, but it seems like the name was used to entice customers because those donuts taste/look nothing like the original. I am one and done with this Shipley's.

Man how you make donuts nasty, they were hard as a rock, 3 days old, and tasted like they put in salt instead of sugar

Went to Shipley’s this morning for kolaches and they were the great! The donuts were good too.

I know about Shipley, I'm from Greenwood Mississippi. We had a Shipley shop. Love the donuts. So happy Memphis have one. When the shop closed . I traveled to Greenville Ms where Shipley still in business just to get me some Shipley donuts.
