I had to check and see if other people experienced what we did, and sure enough. They did. We show up, over half the tables outside are empty, very lightly trafficked day, and the lady STILL asked us if we had reservations and that if we did not it would take 30 minutes to even be seen. I’ve been to thousands of packed restaurants over my lifetime and not once has someone asked me to wait 30 minutes at an empty location to get over priced sandwiches and bread. Never coming back.

The food was very delicious, the location is nice, and the french-style cafe is quaint!

Unfortunately, my wife and I felt overlooked and unappreciated in regards to service. It was moderately busy on a Sunday evening and they seemed well-staffed, but nevertheless, that was our experience, which was disappointing.

Side note: There is seating outside and inside, but be aware that seating inside is right next to other diners.

I selected this restaurant for the Steak au Poivre. I cook this meal at home frequently and was excited to see how they compare. The meal was an experience—an adventure of flavors. The sauce was perfect in flavor and consistency. That comforting, mouth watering flavor of Cognac and cream is incomparable. The toppings on the steak added extra taste and look gourmet. The side vegetables were even more fun to explore. While the Brussels sprouts had a perfect garlicky taste, the butternut squash was seasoned with an allspice, and the zucchini soaked in butter to the perfect amount. The purple carrot was a beautiful touch to wrap up the assortment of exquisite flavors that paired so beautifully together. The balance of flavor baked in the scalloped potatoes was a beauty. The chef team here are skilled artists and the food here was such a pleasing experience. Our waiter even made me a virgin sangria as it is my favorite drink for special occasions and I am expecting. It was beautiful as well. The atmosphere around the restaurant is romantic and comfortable and all around adorable.

This restaurant has surpassed Abel Brown in my book.

Manual's bread is located in the cutest area ever. There is outdoor seating available to soak in the vibes in the area.

The restaurant was quaint and just a tad outdated. The french onion soup was good, but too salty to finish. I also had their microgreen salad, which was tasty but had no volume at all. I was quite surprised by the amount that was plated, as it was a very shallow dish that the salad was served on. Overall, nice experience.

Looks like great food but we waited an hour for service while tables around us ordered, ate, and left. Felt personal even tho we tried to understand how busy they were. Won’t return.

A colleague told us about this place and we tried it out Sunday. You need to make reservations for sure. We ended up eating outside and thank goodness it was a nice evening and not too cool. They have heat lamps and warm blankets at every seat, so it ended up being cozy seating. The food selections were ample and the waitstaff very friendly. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back for bottomless mimosas on Saturday brunch.

Nothing special. The atmosphere and vibe was nice. A great place to go with girlfriends unless you expect more than a good mimosa. Mimosas were good, but the omelette was not. Eggs were overcooked and there was no cheese. Worth trying once but meh overall

Situated in a beautiful small southern styled town, Manuel’s Bread Cafe is absolutely amazing! With a small 5 minute walk, you are down in a beautiful park that overlooks the Savannah River where you can enjoy time with your family or just enjoy the view. Right down the road when you first enter into the small town, you have Augusta’s very own semi pro baseball team, so if you wanted to catch a game before or after dinner, you very well can do so. Aside from those extras, Manuel’s was an absolutely delightful experience. The pure perfection of the food and wonderful staff made this experience so blissful. I recommend this for a nice date night with your significant other or for a casual dinner with your family. 10/10 recommend.
