So glad I drove past! I tried Muddy Waters for the first time today and I’m so excited to return, will definitely come here all the time!!! It’s in the perfect location in between my commute to work, stopped by and enjoyed a bagel and a iced Chai today. The barista was so sweet and very helpful! Super cute spot!!!

We stopped by Muddy Waters Coffee Bar before visiting the nearby McLeod Plantation. The place looks inviting, the barista was friendly, the coffee was good, and the seating areas were cozy. I ordered a latte and it was quite flavorful and smooth. There is outdoor garden seating available for days when the weather is pleasant. We had a good experience and would return when in Charleston.

The baristas were really great here and the coffee was made with love, but the experience in our one day passing through Charleston was ruined by the Karen of an owner who saw my partner and I working remote in the outdoor patio (which was completely empty besides us) and alluded to us having to leave since it the empty outdoor area was for customers only. She ran off like an embarrassed fool when we told her we had already multiple drinks each from her cafe throughout the time we had been there. She seems like the type that hates houseless people.

Coffee, great. Baristas, amazing. Owner, KAREN! my boyfriend and I are on a road trip and we work remote on our computers. We bought 3 expensive drinks from this place and we use our own WiFi.

We were sitting outside on their patio working. There were tables outside and many tables inside open. We were barely taking up any space, this lady walks up to us and asks us what we were doing, she then informed us this outdoor seating was for the coffee shop??? Lol we informed her that we had spent plenty of money here today then she said said oh ok and scurried away embarrassed.

I’m not the type to write but a bad review but this was unprofessional, insulting and bad customer service.

She was 100% a Karen and seems like the type who would call the police or harass homeless people.

I could see if there were people waiting for tables outside but we were the only ones even out there?

The coffee is good but there are 100’s of others to choose from in a city as big as Charleston.

Had a great vegan scone from here (I’m not vegan) and honey lavender latte iced is really delicious too! Great small coffee shop would visit again when I’m back in Charleston

New favorite spot before work. Has local soaps, beans and candles. Love it
