I've been meaning to write this review for the last 5 months. I know coffee exchanges might not normally be rated on compassion, but I came to the exchange while I waited for my dog to complete testing at the emergency clinic after just finding out she was dying. The people that served me that day were so sweet and looking back at their small act of kindness after finding out horrible news meant so much. I wish I could have said thank you to the staff that was so kind to me when I went in today and ordered coffee but the thought of my dog and that day still brings tears to my eyes. Anyways, thank you for your compassion and great service however small or big.

Good stop for a coffee. Nothing that was mind blowingly amazing but was great coffee!

Rich bold coffee with very little aftertaste. This is likely the best cup of coffee West of the Ashley. In addition to buying cups of coffee you can buy freshly ground beans to take home for your coffee maker.
Food selections are limited and tend to be on the Sweet side. Convenient location to catch your breath, read emails and the newspaper.

The absolute best coffee you'll find in Charleston! The staff is so friendly and kind, and every drink they make is delightful. I haven't tried their pastries yet though!

If you are going to close early you should update you hours online instead of a little sign on the door. Drove out of our way to be great disappointed to arrive at 1:20 being closed when 5 is your hours.

This place is so out of the way for me and I don't care. It is totally worth the drive. They have some of the best coffee you'll find anywhere. The variety of drinks are great, the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful, and the quality is always top notch. It's always a good day when I go here.

I’ve been buying whole bean coffee here for 5 years. Black raven, Rainbow row and a few other I liked so much that I tolerated the rude and pretentious barista girls that this place seems to make a policy to hire exclusively.
Without even trying I found a great family owned coffee house with good coffee, but most importantly the baristas are smiling, friendly, enthusiastic
And knowledgeable about their products.
If Charleston coffee exchange did not have such an aversion to these concepts I would still be their customer.

This store has great service and tasty unique flavors. Rainforest crunch is a personal fave of mine. Highly recommend stopping by for a hot cup or a frozen one if that's your thing.

This is without question the best place for coffee in Charleston. Not only are their drinks great. But also you can bulk buy their beans to brew at home. They have a wide variety of roasts to choose from. The Charleston Blend is popular, but I really like the dark roast Raven.
Their baked goods are great. I have never had any of their other foods, but it all looks pretty good.
Definitely worth checking out if your on that side of town, and worth traveling to if you are really into coffee.

Well I have to say, I am a bit of a frozen coffee lover. Living down here is hot hot hot in the summer. I drop by Charleston Coffee Exchange when I am in that neck of the woods. They have incredible frozen coffee. Unfortunately I have been unable to try anything other than the coconut mocha. It is so good, that I cannot try anything else. I won't let myself.
