Groundswell Cafe + Bakery

I wasn't too happy with this place. I had stopped there to go to the bathroom on my way to Little Compton last week and to get a cup of tea and I really liked the atmosphere so I figured I would go there have a cup of tea work on my book then get something to eat and just enjoy the atmosphere. I did acknowledge the signs on the table to please not exceed an hour for your stay. I got my laptop out and I was working drinking my tea for about 15 minutes then the girl that works there came over to me and said no laptops allowed. There is no signs in the cafe anywhere indicating that you cannot bring a laptop in. If there was a sign indicating no laptop then I would have never went there after stopping the first time. It was a half hour ride to get there and then basically I was told you got a chew and screw. I won't go back there again and I will not recommend it to anyone. They have it set up like a Paris Bakery Cafe and I've been to Paris and you can bring your laptops in to the bakery cafes.

We love this place so much! Every little detail is delicious and stunning in every way! The design and decor is beautiful, menu options are plentiful and everything we have tried thus far is absolutely mouth watering. Customer service is friendly, accommodating and happy to help... with a smile at that, a rarity I find in the food industry these days. We look forward to our lazy 20 min drive of back roads to get there and back on the weekends and enjoy every minute of our time there, eating, drinking, shopping, socializing, and sitting by the firepits. Summertime will be even better when our pups can join us.

Timing is everything here! Plan to visit during their less busy times to truly soak in the atmosphere and savor your meal. The breakfast sandwich has been consistently delicious & it comes with a tiny salad too. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it for the quality of the food & drink, wonderful attentive staff and truly beautiful atmosphere. I can only hope to visit here more often as the years go by. 🖖😎☕🍳🥓

Ever been to France? This is how the croissants tasted. I had a breakfast bowl. It was made with such care and tasted fresh and delicious. My dog ate my friends croissants that she left in the car when we went in for an errand and didn't like me or my dog for a while. Still great place, enjoyed the fire pits as well.

I could go here daily if I lived close by! Amazing place, amazing staff, AMAZING food. We can’t stay away.

Frequent visitor. Recently went in with the intention of having breakfast and working for an hour. My raspberry shortbread bar was basically raw and fell apart.

After sitting in a corner chair and getting out my laptop I was quickly approached and told it was a “no laptop environment”. There are no signs and nothing on the website stating this information. The employee then told me I could go outside to a designated area if I wanted.

I emailed management to get more information on the policy, but never received a response. Very disappointed.

Excellent French standard/quality pastries. Beautiful setting in quaint historic building (the building is worth the go alone just to see)!! Coffee okay… quiches amazing!! Atmosphere and porch eating superb

Very disappointed. We have frequented the cafe and have always had a good exerience. However we stopped by on 7/21 and learned they have switched over a new menu. The avocado toast was not good and not what was expected. And the breakfast bowl is subpar to the previous which was my favorite. Not to mention we waited a very long time for our meals, about 30 minutes and it did not seen overly busy at the time. Will have to think about going back. Only positive note is the cafe and workers are delightful

What a great place! Lunch was fantastic! Everything was delicious. The Roman pizza was delish! Don't miss the cheesecake in a jar. Yum! The garden store and shop attached to the cafe were also fun to browse and shop.

The cafe is a wonderful space, with a comfortable feel to it al. The food is great and the service outstanding.
The staff went out of their way to make sure my order was prepared safely in consideration for my food allergies and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience.
