Simple Merchant Coffee

I stopped here on my way out of newport and boy, does this place deserve 5 stars.

My wife and I both got drinks, and they were stupidly good, easily the best espresso drink I've likely ever had, no joke.

I love this coffee spot! I love the salted caramel with oat milk! I like to sit outside and enjoy the area. Great service- cool industrial design!

What an awesome find! My wife and I were on our way out of town from visiting Newport for the weekend and decided to stop in somewhere for a quick coffee. Absolutely incredible coffee (best my wife said she had on our trip by far), bites, and service.

This place is amazing! Run by the sweetest couple, we came back 2 days in a row 😋 Honey cinnamon, Mocha, Maple sea salt, and Espresso w/ citrus soda were each great wake-up drinks. And the food is nothing to sneeze at either. We recommend the “egg” sandwich or the cinnamon roll

This place has ruined me for being able to enjoy coffee anywhere else. It is simply the best espresso I have ever had! They offer a rotating bean option as well as the house espresso, so you can have a unique flavor experience each time you visit if you wish

Latte was good without being too sweet. Enjoyed the lil’ extra by adding a wafer treat with my order. Atmosphere is trendy with a friendly and quick staff.

Run don't walk to this coffee shop. They take true pride in their coffee. It's closer to an art form. Delicious, delicious, delicious. I dare you to find a better coffee shop, because you won't.

By far the best coffee on the island, probably in the Northeast, some of the best I’ve had in the country. Always have new roasts and staff is willing to explain the tastes of each. Personally, I love the “Old Fashioned” coffee drink - I am an old fashioned and whiskey drinker, and it is new, interesting, and very tasty. Lattes done perfectly, coffee done right.

Oh, the sandwiches and pastries are killer too. Go here, just do it.
