We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. I had the fantastic Veranda Club sandwich and others the delicious potato soup and veggie sandwich. All quickly served and well presented. Our server, Kerry, was super friendly and attentive. We’ll be back soon!

My daughter and I love this place. Food was excellent, the best. The staff were great. We truly enjoyed it. Aww the Coconut Cake, and Carrot Cake were delicious. We highly recommend Veranda Cafe.

We went here after a long cold rainy hike and we got exactly what we needed to recover! Great service, fast service, delicious hot and chunky tomato bisque accompanied with a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon and hot coffee! The wait staff was so helpful and so kind. On our way out we got lured in by their delicious baked good selection and we have absolutely no regrets about choosing the moist peanut butter pie looking cookie! It was the best cookie we have EVER had! Seriously. Will be coming back!

Lots of lunch restaurant options in the town of Black Mountain and we ended up here. Lovely brick walls, comfortable, quiet (which I really appreciate in a restaurant and is hard to find!). While we were waiting for our table, some locals recommended the Hungarian mushroom soup. I don't usually like mushrooms, but decided it was unusual enough that I should try it. And the soup was delicious. I scraped the soup cup with a homemade yeast roll so I ate every drop. I ordered the cup of soup and half sandwich and upgraded from the chips to the Indian summer salad. My friend had chicken salad and Indian summer salad. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh and healthy. Often after eating at a restaurant, I'll feel a little gross from the calories or richness of the food. But, I left Veranda I left feeling full, happy, and like I'd made healthy choices while supporting a really delicious and local business. I'd definitely eat here again.

The food was delicious! The only down side is that they had already run out of several menu items that we wanted, but that just meant that it's so good that it was already gone. Maybe next time we'll get there earlier. The waitress we had though was very unapologetic about the menu items being unavailable, and didn't let us know they were unavailable until we were giving her our order, and so we were having to take more time to decide what we wanted instead. Otherwise, a good place to get yummy, fresh, homemade soups and sandwiches.

Veranda Cafe is our new favorite lunch stop when passing through Black Mountain. Reasonable prices, varied menu. It's on a one-way back street, so you may have to look for it. For dessert, the Hop ice cream shop is directly across the street.

We ordered the special of the day which was a reuben sandwich. The bun was cold and soft and it had about 2 small cuts of meat. And for this they charged $14 dollars. Sorry, won't be back.

Our family dropped into Veranda while making a day trip to Black Mountain. We knew it was going to be good, because it was packed with locals for lunch. The food was delicious and didn't break the bank, and the service was on point. If we ever return to Black Mountain, we will be back.

Had brunch. Inexpensive and good taste. It was very crowded so be sure to go early or expect wait of atleast half hour.
