Went to Gator's for breakfast yesterday. It was amazing! The food was simple but delicious. Great staff!

What a wonderful breakfast experience! I had the special - Apple Fritter French Toast with Sausage Patties. The apple french toast was perfect! Just the right amount of apples in it, and a really wonderful flavor and perfect texture/consistency. The sausage patties were also of high quality, with a pleasant flavor and no fillers. My waitress was the owner and she was as friendly and personable as anyone could be. This is where I will eat breakfast any time I am in Ely!

The food is great and the service is quick. The bacon Mac and cheese sandwich is rich and indulgent. My husband loved it. I had the four cheese grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was perfect for a brisk but sunny October afternoon. If the weather, sit outside on their spacious patio

I've been to Gators several time in the past and it has always been good. My recent visit was a disappointment. The prices of their meals had gone up significantly which is the case for most restaurants, but most restaurants have maintained their quality. Two in my party had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. The soup was in a VERY small mug and the sandwiches were made with a skimpy amount of American cheese.....not really acceptable at a restaurant whose title is grilled cheese emporium. My provolone grilled cheese had two very thin slices of cheese. When I order a grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant, I expect it to be rich in melted cheese. Finally, my glass of water tasted like I was drinking a mouthful of soap. I hope that their quality will improve, but unless someone tells me that, I won't be going back which is unfortunate because my husband and I are very deliberate about not going to chain restaurants and always supporting the local businesses.

I guess it's me, but I didn't care for the Chili. Too much tomato sauce, no cummin or chili powder. The Bacon Macaroni and cheese pretty good.

Got take out here.... Everything looked great. Our cabin was 8 mins away is all, the food was kinda cold. Got a salad with french there wasn't enough to cover a 1/4 of the salad the staff wasn't the greatest. They also waited until I showed up to tell me they are out of something we ordered... Overall not happy..

Great mac and cheese grilled cheese! We asked them to split the order and they gave us two sides of chips! Staff was very nice and they had a great outdoor patio!

Fun little restaurant, lots of great salad options if you're trying to eat a little healthy. They also have sandwiches if you'd rather go that route. Very friendly service.

Like most other people on an early morning in ely, we were anxious to hit the water for our trip. The other breakfast place in town had a long wait time out the door. Thought we would give Gators a try and are we happy we did! The breakfast burrito I had had seasoned sausage which was out of this world! Everyone else love their pancakes and French toast. The price was very reasonable and we are out the door within 30 minutes of arriving full and ready for our adventure. They had a sign up that said please be patient because we are understaffed, but they were quicker than most places I've been to In ely.

Went in with a small group on our lunch break. Ely is very busy at this time of year with tourist traffic and Gator's was the only place in town at 11am that wasn't completely slammed with traffic. I can see why. The portion sizes you receive are almost criminally small. I paid nearly $20 for a single sandwich, chips, and a canned beverage. I'm willing to accept small portions at high prices for above average food, but my Cuban was barely seasoned and tasted bland and dry. The only thing that saved it was the sauce, which can be credited to Zup's. And once again, the portion size was nearly laughable. No one in my group was properly fed and we all went back to work hungry. This place must be making money hand over foot at great expense to the customers. Usually small menu means good food, not here. No one in our group thought the meal was good, we all just ate it because we were hungry and working hard and would eat almost anything. Literally 5/5 felt cheated. Two stars only because the staff was friendly and the lunch "snack" came fast. We have more work in Ely but I think we'll just go to DQ.

Great food and fantastic staff. Only complaint is that their beverages were cans or bottles of water only.

I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The sausage was mixed in with the scrambled eggs. Very filling. Could not finish the potatoes and they were probably the best. The most fun part is that the kids meals come on a frisbee. My daughter had blueberry French toast and carried her frisbee from 11 AM until 5 PM tonight.

Super breakfast spot in Ely. Loved the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. Coffee is super strong for my test , but everything else was excellent.
