We stopped in after dinner at another restaurant for a drink at the open air bar above Primos. It was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful!

Terrible, overpriced food in a pretentious ambiance. Avoid this place. There are better restaurants in the area.

After 20 years of visits, not one disappointing meal. Great service. Comfortable atmosphere and consistently amazing food.

We had a wonderful dinner at Primo. Met all of our expectations. A very special experience. The entrees were exquisite and the fresh pasta is outstanding. Save room for amazing gelato and sorbet.

Neat experience. Nice people. Price isn't worth it. I'd rather a hotel resturaunt to be honest, typically the same quality. Less of a wait that way. Probably WAY cheaper that way too, surprisingly.

Our previous experience with Primo had always been hopeful and full of mystique, since this restaurant holds high esteem among those of us who live here in Maine. We finally made it here, but it was as photographers with a wedding. We notice things like ambiance and lighting and how people behave behind the scenes. It was all good at Primo. There were just the right number of candles to light the space well, but still have cozy vibes. We we served the same delicious food that the guests we served. It was an honest and cared for experience, and we were just the ones working the event. That has to say really good things for the guests experience too.

Primo is amazing. The food is always mind-blowingly delicious and elegantly prepared with great service and atmosphere. Unlike other world-class restaurants, the vibe is cozy and casual, not pretentious at all. A couple of the best meals of my life were had here, and it's really not much more expensive than your average nice restaurant in the area, especially since the portions are solid. Can't recommend highly enough!

By far my favorite restaurant in New England. This is a true farm to table place! So fresh, so clean, so good! Thank you, Primo!

Don't believe the hype. Overpriced for the quality of food. The salmon had no flavor. There was no attempt to season. It was sitting on a bed of bitter black quinoa and greens with basic acv vinegrette. The pork, Saltimbocco, was way too salty, and served on a giant 'pile' of basic mashed potatoes, with one leaf of spinach, and a slice of prosciutto hiding underneath the meat. 2 very thin, chewy pieces served with au jue that tasted like it came from a powder mix. Unlike what Saltimbocco is supposed to be, pork tenderloin stuffed, "jump in mouth" tender. It was no better than Hannaford cheap pork chops. We were charged for the entire table of bread ($2x6 people) even though each couple got a separate check. The waiter was definitely put out by this. Tacked on a 20% gratuity since we were a party of 6 or more. The service is interesting. Get fawned over by multiple people at the start. One served water and later bread, then another delivers a warm 'shot' of apple cider, then we have a primary waiter. He gave us 30-40 min to 'look over' the menu, leaving us with just water to drink. Oh, and strangely enough, I picked up my coffee cup to help the waiter. A simple thank you would of sufficed, but he was put out again, and said 'I could of handled that'. The building is stunning, and they are in no way short staffed as most places in the area. That said, we will not return. $172 for two salads, 2 Entrees, bread and two coffees. Much better food with reasonable prices available down the road in down town Rockland.

My husband and I had a fabulous meal at Primo. We sat at the bar and we were very well attended to by both Rob and Jeffrey. The drinks are fabulous and so creative. We shared the foie gras and octopus for starters- both were fabulous with complex flavors that came together so well. My husband had the strip steak and I had the duck - both were so good. We finished off with profiteroles and a caramel flan type dessert. Definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back!

Absolutely incredible. My mother and I went for the first time last night. From the second we arrived, the hosts were so welcoming and lovely. Ian was our server and took such time to explain the menu, the specials. The ambiance was lovely. Every course my mother and I shared and everything was a flavor explosion in the mouth, cooked to perfection. The service was beyond perfect. Everyone seemed to take such pride in their environment and they also seemed relaxed and truly happy to be there. I would recommend this spot to anyone! Absolutely incredible fine dining in Rockland, ME. Thank you, Primo and Ian, we will be back! :)

Primo really is a gem of the area. Although it's been getting worldwide recognition, I'll never forget the stories my grandma told me since she grew up behind it. Such a beautiful area from the gardens, to the pigs, to the rustic buildings. Food is always stunning. Make sure to make a reservation!

Last week we brought a party of 10 (5 couples), only one had ever been to Primo before which always makes us nervous about recommending a restaurant but Primo was as good, maybe better than ever! We had a great table upstairs that fit the 10 of us perfectly. Everything from the Apple cider & crème fresh amuse to the cinnamon and sugar “donuts” (and every bite in between) were fantastic! Everyone loved Primo and I know we won’t hesitate recommending it again!! PS. The foie gras app and the duck main were my personal favs of the night but the other guys still were talking about the pork chop special the next day!

The food was phenomenal at a decent price (understanding your paying for quality). However the service treated us like a young couple not worth fair attention, alongside that the place was quite boisterous when we expected a quiet, elegant meal. Overall, we would definitely go back.

One of the best meals that I have had while on vacation. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and probably pretty much anything on their menu. Service was outstanding as well. Thank you for the amazing dinner experience. Don't let my pricing choice represent this place as a whole. We ordered a bottle of wine which skews the pricing. The drinks are normally priced and the food is priced to it's quality.

Absolutely stunning. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in all my travels. From the service, ambiance, vibe, and all the way down to the food and how well it was prepared and presented - this is a dining experience to behold! The ingredients were so fresh, the drinks inventive, and the wine list was extensive. Our waiter had genuine recommendations and input on all drink and entree decisions, which was refreshing. The restaurant itself was well kept and entirely unique. Just such a good experience that I can’t say enough about. It is a MUST TRY!
