The food was delicious! The wait staff was on point! It's a place sort of between a hipster joint and a posh bistro. The portions are huge! The chairs could use some cushions.

Excellent restaurant for breakfast. We had the chicken fried steak, delicious. We were able to share it and filled us up. I did order a 1/2 order French toast and could barely eat half, I was stuffed from chicken fried steak. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and priced right. Defiantly will visit this again.

Stopped in from out of town and had a great experience, had some unique items on the menu that were super tasty. If you're local or just driving through, I definitely suggest this place for breakfast. Also wait staff was super nice!

The shrimp and grits here have been awesome in the past. Unfortunately, today I ordered the shrimp and grits and it looks like Fort Jessie Cafe has greatly reduced their portion size but not the price.

I recommend the Grandpa's breakfast. Two eggs your way, bacon or sausage (I had the bacon) hashbrowns toast with there own made jelly. I'll definitely be back again.

This restaurant is very popular so plan your visit ahead to get a seat. Pulled up on a Thursday morning for some breakfast. Was seated after a 10 minute wait. Staff very friendly. During my wait I enjoyed the fantastic aroma wafting from the kitchen. The best way I can explain this place is….You know those good restaurants that have a constant stream of visually pleasing, fully plated meals leaving kitchen? This is one of those places. Think my meal looks good? I wanted to stick my fork in everything i saw leaving the kitchen. I’m actually going to try each meal on the menu! Look at my pics. This is the Ft. Buster - a biscuits and gravy plate. Made to order, and do I really need to tell you that it was delicious? Com’on.. look at the pics! It tastes just how it looks. Delicious! I’m going back!

Have eaten here multiple times. Menu is creative and top notch. Food is always well prepared, for example they can do an egg over medium and not every restaurant can. Service is exceptionally good. Decor is nondescript and minimal, but that’s not what they are selling. Only criticism is it be a bit chilly if it is exceptionally cold outside. However it is hard to keep a place warm in really cold weather when you have large windows. Excellent breakfast and lunch dining and a local treasure.

My absolute favorite place for breakfast! The monthly specials & the chorizo burrito with a coffee is my small piece of heaven!

Really good experience from start to finish! We made a reservation for 4, and we were seated right away. Our server was great—knowledgeable about the menu and was attentive and pleasant. Food and beverages were great. Raspberry Pistachio pancakes was a combination I didn’t know I needed! Irish Cream cold brew was fantastic. Avo Brekkie Sandwich and Country Fried Steak were also excellent. We will be back!

What a joke! Stopped in for breakfast this morning and was turned away because I was alone. They had available tables but didn't want to waste one on an individual! I'm in town for work for 3 weeks and staying nearby. Was hoping I found my morning spot in town but I will never return! I will make certain all of my co-workers that are also coming in to town know to avoid this place. They are simply rude and completely unaccommodating. I wouldn't return if the food was free.

Food was good but PRICE was way too high. Coffee $4.20 per cup (not a specialty coffee) ridiculous guess we won't be going back there total bill three adults one child for breakfast was over 70.00

One of the best restaurants in the area. The food is consistently good. I love the chicken and waffles, the skillets, and the brekkie sandwich. My husband gets the shrimp and grits. The lunch options are equally amazing. Everything I've ever tried has made me crave it for a future visit. It's unlike any other place in town. My ONLY complaint... is that I wish they had a 2nd location or extended hours. I love breakfast all day.

Back at it again! Absolutely love this place, the service, the food, on and on!!! Mixed it up this time! My wife got the chicken and waffles! The syrup, butter, and all the flavors that go on the chicken bring you straight to flavor town! My mother in law got the GLUTEN FREE cornmeal pancakes and said that it was a flavor explosion! Also... we had a reservation and had a bit of a wait (which was not proble) but fort jesse hooked us up with a surpirse cinnamon roll. NEXT LEVEL! Don't miss out on this place if you are in Bloomington-Normal! Another Great Experience at Fort Jesse Cafe today! Great food and great service! Best Breakfast spot in the Bloomington-Normal area in my humble opinion! Potentially best resturant period! Always an awesome meal whether you dine in or get take-out! If you are vegetarian/vegan I highly recommend the Southwest Tofu skillet. Out of this world good!
