HiCO - Hawaiian Coffee

The bana bread toast was good. The other stuff we ordered was okay- fresh ingredients but not the best flavors. I was also disappointed by the cappuccino. Kona has some of the best coffee in this world and these guys had very mild coffee for my taste. I got here right after landing in Kona only by the ratings to get disappointed. Didn't try the Ube latte which seems to be a favorite by other reviewers.

Really good. Coffee was great and the food was really tasty. We went for breakfast and I was so hungry I forgot to take photos.

The coffee is very good. The service and communication to customers is terrible. This is the second time visiting and the first time was a good experience. The second time we ordered avocado toast and it took over 30 minutes and they said there were still five orders in front of us.

Fan-tastic service & atmosphere Food & bev is great as well. You will get a great latte with great espresso art. Ube is a must

The Cappuccino was too hot and the milk foam wasn’t good either. A lot of things were ran out at 4pm including the froshaka . The newer one is better.

The ube sweet cream cold brew was delicious and the barista who recommended it was so nice. Very cool decor and vibes!

While the coffee can be great, they use Costco oat milk, which is not creamy and horrible in coffee drinks. Completely overshadows the taste of coffee. Why use cheap alt milk when you’re charging extra for it anyways. I hope they do a taste comparison between this oat milk and regular milk lattes to see how it spoils the experience. Wish I knew in advance so would’ve taken regular milk to be able to taste the true Kona coffee.

The bar topper, which I think might be a slab of Monkeypod, is absolutely fabulous! The size is phenomenal, what? 3 inches thick? It must certainly weigh a lot, I give credit to those who put in the blood, sweat, and tears to produce such a fine piece of furniture. It must not have been easy to source such an extraordinary slab of local wood. The owner sure has great taste. I also had a blended coffee and I really liked it. Thanks!

Hip spot with cool merch to prove it. Slightly pricey for small cup sizes but very well made drinks. Industrial surroundings make it feel like the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.

I can’t speak to the specialty drinks but the espresso was outrageous and the drip coffee just as terrible. We ended up throwing both of them away. In a island of great coffee and coffee shops you should avoid this place at all costs if you just want to sip some decent Kona coffee.

This is a popular spot but worth the wait if it's busy. Staff interaction varies from each visit some staff are very helpful others seem overwhelmed. Someday I'll buy the merch great designs , probably top 2 on my favorite coffee spots in Kona.

Not your ordinary coffee house! Delicious lilikoi drinks and musabi. A definite must do.

HiCO coffee is really cool - laid back atmosphere, friendly service, and great coffee. I got the iced ube latte with soy milk - loved it and would recommend it any day! My husband enjoyed his chocolate froshaka and our friend loved the coffee (best in town!).

Love the coffee there. All coffee used is grown on island. Turkey Panini is one of my favorites 😋 I love getting the turkey with brie but instead of deli mustard I get it with pesto. It is the greatest combination 😍

This place was good! I wanted to try Hawaiian coffee, and i felt flavours were a bit strong, but that was great for evening with a beautiful sunset!

The crab masubi and haupia latte were the best things we had on our trip. We actually drove out of our way to eat them again! We thought maybe it hit different the first time because we were tired and hungry from 24+ hours of travel but NOPE exactly as delicious as the first time. We also tried the lilikoi lime drink which was nice and refreshing. The ube latte was nice but mostly an aesthetic thing because once mixed it didn't really taste or look like ube. Still great though.

Stopped in for a coffee and a small bite before a quick drive up to Mauna Kea. We had an iced latte and an Ube sweet cream iced latte to drink and one of each of the musubi that we shared half of both with each other. Both musubi were very nice, but the crab musubi was our favorite. The loaded musubi was fine, but it's basically just a spam musubi with sauces. No complaints, but it sounded more extravagant from the menu description that it actually was. It was the perfect amount of food for a light lunch. We grabbed a pineapple and cheese Danish for the road, the texture of which reminded me more of a bialy than a Danish, but the pineapple was very tasty. If I lived here, I could see this being a regular spot for a decent bite to eat with a good coffee.
