The best coffee in Santa Cruz
The beans here are consistently burnt. If you are looking to get quality coffee beans in Santa Cruz, go to 11th hour or Verve instead.

When your customers are shivering and ask you to close the front door, please close the door. Instead the waitstaff tells us that the seemingly absent “manager” says, with no explanation mind you, that the door has to remain open regardless of how much cold air is blowing in the front door. Bloody stupid place.
I enjoy the casual Cafe atmosphere and the private study area of this place. The service is very friendly too, which is also a great asset. Unfortunately, every time I've ordered coffee here, I have been completely let down. The espresso is overpulled, and the milk is consistently burnt and overfrothed. 1/4 of the drink is usually just dry foam and way too hot. The matcha latte is also much too sweet. Many acquaintances of mine have agreed with the same points.
Santa Cruz makes the best coffee in the world.
The coffee is very good, but the prices are a little on the high end. A little over $5.50 for a latte with some flavored syrup.
Love the vibe at Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting, where I occasionally buy my fair trade, organic, freshly roasted, whole coffee beans! And while I’m there, I order a coffee of the same bean, with my fav alt ‘cream’ all nicely frothed up. They always brew tasty concoctions for me, with no issues, and always with a smile! I haven’t tried any of their pastries yet, but must admit that I’m tempted…maybe next time.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed that I had to walk very far to use the pubic restroom during my visit. Not cool to have your customers inconvenienced like that. On top of this, they gave a cup of hot coffee to a wheelchair bound veteran with NO LID!! The coffee was spilling on him. I asked if he needed help and the mute veteran nodded his head yes. I got him a lid and sleeve for his coffee. One would think it's pretty logical that a disabled person needs some assistance.... Guess not fit the staff working that day.

For drip coffee, you can choose from around 20 different beans so that your coffee is always exactly the type you like. I got a dark roast drip coffee and it was very good. It was strong and not watery like you might find at many other coffee shops. I like strong coffee.
My coffee git stolen from the counter and I got 86ed for complaining about it!! Ruining my day and made me cry. They set coffee down and call out name and don't pay attention, leaving coffee to get takin. Happens daily. The customer gets kicked out , no coffee and the theif gets the coffee! Not cool. Also, too much street trashy people out front always! Go to Abbot Square where you get treated fair! CAME over there crying n THEY GAVE ME FREE COFFEE!!!
