Ok, Interesting place. I think it reaches high..... Delivery was ok. However I am not sure its quite in the orbit its trying to fly in. I enjoyed the place and would b go back there but after several attempts I would choose something else. So to be clear I think that the place is a solid hit. But its not earth shaking . Its an enjoyable night not but not one for the books.
Went for dinner and decided to have all shareable appetizers. The portions were generous. Three items were enough for the two of us and we even took left overs home. Everything was very good, the staff was friendly, and it has a beautiful patio by the creek.
35 years of visiting SLO, we can always depend on NOVO for one of the most outstanding locations (sit outside above the river if you can), stellar service - shout out to, KAYA, and from start to finish, the entire meal is always perfection. NOVO always make our 5 star list and they take reservations, so us out of towner's can enjoy! Shout it out... NOVO!!
We came in on a Saturday night and got a seat on their beautiful patio right away. Both the cocktails and the non alcoholic drinks were great! The brussel sprouts were a perfect appetizer for the table to share. We ordered a wide variety of food and it was all perfect! Our table tried the Thai curry, red curry, duck, lemon pasta, and ribeye and loved all of it. They also had lots of dessert options, with the best creme brûlée and key lime pie we’ve ever had! The prices were also very fair for the quality and location!
This place is only running on its ambience. The food and drinks are below average. Their cocktails are so stiff that halfway through one drink, we felt tipsy. Good if you’re a college going student but not for us! I ordered the lettuce wraps with tofu, and their lettuce wasn’t washed!!
Novo is an Unreal lunch spot in SLO! They have a pretty unique menu, I went for the late lunch and got the spring rolls, calamari, carnitas sopes, and salmon salad and everything was very good! Try to get a table outside near the creek, on a warm sunny day it’s a vibe for sure. I didn’t know coming here that their lunch menu / late lunch menu has different items so make sure to check it out in case you want something specific. Overall this place has very fresh food, a wide array of options, and everything (including the fried calamari) tasted light and delicious. Nothing tasted greasy or old, and it was all well balanced. I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re in SLO and getting a few items to share.
Really cool restaurant right on the creek. Dog friendly. Great service and amazing food. Very underrated spot.
I hadn't been to Novo in quite a few years and it is so much better than I remembered. The sharing plates were delicious, specifically the Korean short ribs and potato samosas. For mains, the Roghan Josh curry was tasty and the rack of lamb was incredible (pictured). All of that with fantastic service from Paolo! Can't wait to head back there again soon. Also FYI the corkage fee is $20.
A great for brunch and dinner! One of the top farm to table restaurants in SLO
High quality really good food and menu best service ever good creek/nature view
What a fun surprise the basement/cellar was. (We have eaten on the back patio before.) Super cozy on a cold, rainy night. Food was unique and superb. We got 4 appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Gourmet.
Easy to get a day-of reservation. Novo lettuce wrals were a hands on experience. Noodles were decently flavoured. Drinks were strong but balanced.
The patio was beautiful the Food was great and the service was top notch.
Love this place! Restaurant by the creekside...
We ordered takeout. Korean ribs were a bit overdone and tough. Roasted brussel sprouts and samosa were pretty good.
This place was recommended to us by Patrick at Ragtag. Beautiful creek side dining. Our server was amazing. Food was wonderful. Can’t wait to come back again.
Beautiful creekside patio seating alfresco, a little crowded and uncomfortable chairs. The wait was too long because the hostess was confused about where to see this after she called us to come to the table. There bartender where we had to wait for a while was pleasant and jovial and very efficient. The food was okay but nothing to rave about.
Cool place to go in Downtown SLO, Peppered Turkey & Avocado Sandwich was delicious, highly recommend! Patio is really cool as well, with a view of the creek from your table. Waitress was fabulous as well. Definitely try Novo if in town.
The food is great, no doubt. If you don't have allergies it's a wonderful place to eat. I however have celiac, which means I cannot eat gluten. Despite them telling me repeatedly that it will be safe to eat here and they make things in separate pans, make it on a separate grill, etc, I've gotten sick 3 times. I'm assuming it's from cross contamination as I've found parts of other dishes in my food, like steak in the ahi nachos. Twice they brought me out the gluten version of the food and I had to send it back. I'm currently super nauseous and dealing with a bunch of stomach pain because of these folks, and won't be coming back. I should have stopped coming after this first time, but I do love those nachos. I'll honestly miss them!
Stopped by for a quick dinner before dropping off a Mustang. The service was very attentive. I especially enjoyed my Chicken Green Curry. The family is happy so I'm happy. We sat outside on a slightly chilly evening but there are plenty of warmers to keep it comfortable.
