I have been going to this place for 5 years and its a true gem. the service is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. its a great place to work or enjoy the outside area. they have a really nice back patio! I also love their gluten free and vegan items - there is always tons of variety. I love how fresh their pastries are. additionally, I have celiac disease and I have not had any difficulties eating here!
Locally owned cafe with great coffee, and incredible tea selection and great morning pastries. Open later in the evening than most coffee shops/cafes in the area. Great staff with chill ambiance. Love this place for just hanging out to days of working from home!
Returned for the first time in nearly a decade. It has unfortunately lost its charm and ambiance.
I've loved this coffee shop since I was 11. I'm 34. It's always been great!
We got the Breakfast burrito and it was great! Fresh ingredients and wonderful taste.
As a business owner my advice is vacuum the middle room, clean the tables. Looked really dirty. The aesthetic wasn’t bad. The back yard looked really cool. As far as menu. We had specialty coffee drinks, which was good. The food was not good. The expresso bowl is a breakfast bowl. It needs work. It was cold and the ingredients is clearly right out the can. *Clean the place *Improve Expresso Bowl
Great cozy location, staff was super nice, and the waffles and matcha latte I had were excellent.
Stylin Spot, classy, 🎨 artistic, birds are magical, feed em out of my hand.
Cool ambiance, not the beat customer service, asked girl some questions about there drinks and she didn’t know or didnt care
One of the oldest and best places to get coffee. Love their outdoor area with a small koi pond. Great place to relax, work, or meet friends and enjoy coffee. Intimate atmosphere, welcome and warm. There's a lot of space inside, and out front and back. Their food is great, and espresso affordable.
Yummy plant-based pastry options, super good coffee, and cute as heck.
Wow. The new owners fired most of their staff and people also quit. Time to find another coffee place. Don’t go here!!!!
We had a breakfast burrito and coffee, the ambience was fantastic, a lot of plants. Staff were very friendly and the food was good. The burrito was a little plain.
I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and overall atmosphere especially the backyard area and the koi pond. The downside to this was the absolutely undrinkable beverages that had me gagging. Went here twice, the first time the iced tea was so weak and bitter it tasted like grass and dishwater. Decided to give it a second chance, my friend tried the matcha and asked for it extra sweet, it was bitter, gritty and undrinkable GARBAGE. The employee’s seemed inexperienced. Right after I ordered the employee said out loud, “how do I make this?” Overall, did not pass the vibe check.
We had espresso here once and thought it was good but really bitter, tried drip coffee on the second visit, really weak coffee that tasted like cheap grocery store coffee from a can. When I brought the order on the second trip back they didn’t offer to make it right by providing other options so we just left them there. The staff are nice but lack experience and no one seems to be there to supervise. I appreciate the one employee wearing a mask but if your mask is so loose you have to keep pulling it up constantly it really doesn’t do anything for anyone as well meaning as it might be. Wouldn’t come back here again.
Awesome indoor and outdoor seating, the food and pastries are always really good, but sometimes the coffee is hit or miss
Perfect place for a leisurely coffee or tea break at any time of day. Tiny stage for folksy live music some nights.
This is the best cafe in downtown SLO! This cafe has it all; Amazing lattes; Tasty food and pastries; A lovely garden in the back; Considerate and wonderful staff; Overall wonderful ambiance and vibes! I’m personally quite particular with how the milk in my lattes is steamed, and they get it every single time! Trust me, whether you’re grabbing a quick drink, need a new cafe to study at, or just want somewhere in downtown where you can unplug with a bite, you won’t leave Linnaea’s disappointed!
After I tossed my bad latte from another shop, I strolled over the Linnaea’s Cafe for another try at breakfast. I ordered a latte(of course) along with a coffee cake. The coffee cake was very well made and seemed like the ingredients were focused on healthy rather than sugary, which made for a great meal. Apparently, they make great eggs here but I didn’t order any since I wasn’t that hungry. I sat in front where there is a window looking over the sidewalk though there is seating in back as well. Also, the building is old and they maintained much of the architectural feel inside the shop. I wish they had more buildings like this in Walnut Creek. Next time I’ll give I’ll stop in for lunch. It’s definitely a great cafe.
The place looks nice, especially the backyard sitting area but the coffee ($3) was horrible, it tasted like the coffee I was brewing several time when I was a student. I couldn’t finish it. Pastries were ok, they don’t warm them for us though. Also the place could use some cleaning.
