I really enjoyed my experience that House of bagels that's Saturday morning I just missed the county bus so I decided to eat instead and it was like a blast from the past having the bagel and cream cheese and lox and capers theway it was served open-faced with capers tomato and crispy onions reminding me I was just Sunday mornings of my Jewish childhood. The lady at the counter was delightful now I wish there was a place around here that I could get they chopped liver sandwich in a bowl of matzo ball soup also I was impressed with the quality of the onion bagel even though I'm a anti-zionist atheist now I will always be Jewish thank you how's the bagels
Any time I'm in SLO, I make a trip to House of Bagels. The bagels are always fresh and delicious.
Good bagels, my breakfast sandwich tasted great, my gripe is that they sold me two cups of coffee without actually having any coffee in the 3 urns. I pointed it out and the person behind the counter said they would get on it but 45 min later still no coffee. I watched other people have the same experience. Too long a line to argue and get a refund so I’ll just complain. If they hadn’t ripped me off for two cups of coffee (me and others) I would have given them 4 or 5 stars. Poor management.
Exceptional staff who keep their cool while being berated by a man whose wife is clearly sleeping with someone else. Also the bagel is good.

Only bagel shop in town, so there is inherent demand. Yet this place is doing *literally* the bare minimum and still seemingly thriving. Want to call in an order at 8:30 on a weekday? Good luck! “Please hold for a minute”… more like please hold forever. Menu online? Non-existent Website? Nope! Decent bagels IF you can get one.
Best bagels on California Central Coast. Having grown up with New York bagels, coming to California was a disappointment in the way of God bagels until I found House of Bagels. Friendly staff, quick orders and lots of schmear choices.

Literally the slowest service Ive ever experienced. 17 minutes for a plan bagel toasted with cream cheese. Always. It’s terrible
Dear House of Bagels...I decided to stop and get a bagel on my way to work. It was about 10 am. I was 5th in line and an slow old man took forever but that's okay. When I finally got up there were only 4 different kinds of bagels left. I thought that was weird because it was still pretty early and the line was long. I would of thought with all the online orders and in house orders they could have had plenty to choose but I guess not. So I had to choose not my favorite bagel. I ordered 1 bagel toasted and smear on the side. That's all. My point is I was there for 25 minutes to get 1 bagel!!! God forbid I had more than 1 and a complicated order. Was this normal morning? Maybe some changes need to be made in order to accommodate the customers better
Can’t answer a phone call. Two years of trying to place phone orders for pick up an never has worked.

The bagel and lox is scrumptious! And the staff is very nice.
Food was really good but unfortunately the service was unenjoyable and took away from the food. There was no organization or communication in the kitchen would lead to multiple people waiting 20+ minutes for bagels. The food was really great but I am hesitant to give it another shot due to the slow pace and attitude of the workers. It seemed like we were the inconvenience for wondering where our food was after long periods of time. Even after waiting very long our order of just two bagels was still wrong as well.
Slay the house (of bagels) boots down! We ATE. Nah fr this place is awesome and tasted so damn good. Service isn’t the fastest but it’s bc it’s so busy bc people like it so much. You cant rush perfection David Ross. Lox go crazy, red hat was fire. 5/5 recommend. (Photo is aftermath after savagely devouring them)

The bagels taste good and location is convenient. Have eaten here 5-6 times to give it a fair shot because my first 2 experiences were not great. Well I just did my last visit more than likely. They are consistently out of coffee or it is cold. Always out of 3-4 flavors of cream cheese. Service is as slow as any place I have been so if you go here give yourself 25-30 min to get your Bagel. Clenliness is also poor. No manager or owner the times I have been there just not enough employees and they are tired and beaten down. I give it 2 stars for the taste of the bagels. I wish the staff was good because I would go 3-4 times per week.
Horribly slow I do not understand how it takes so long to toast a bagel and put cream cheese on it. The employees are barely working and just stand there talking. There are three people working and only one person doing anything. The only reason this place is still open is because its the only bagel place here.
As all the reviews state they are unreasonably slow. Best lox sandwich I’ve had and the mocha was also excellent. But I watched how they all operate like the sloths in zootopia
The best bagels in SLO! The wait can be long, but you can avoid that by ordering ahead. Would recommend
