Lovely location, some interesting menu options, but ultimately overpriced coffee.

Coffeeshop with real Silicon Valley vibe (entrepreneurs around) and feel like Europe in US!

I have to admit that there's always a lot of hype around Blue Bottle. They are trying to provide a very artesian European cafe type experience opposite of a mainstream cookie cutter Starbucks approach, all while trying to be quick about it, not as fast as a Starbucks but still giving you some time back on your clock. So do they actually accomplish their goals? Not exactly. Is the menu simple and to the point, sure. Is the atmosphere simplistic and clean at their many locations, yes I agree. Where they fall short is time, service, and quality. Good lord it's always time with them because if you're in a hurry..good luck! I appreciate a slower approach to a cafe experience when I need it but man if you DON'T have any sense of urgency in your day then you've found the right spot. Is their product better than others, compared to Starbucks I would say maybe. Definitely a more artisan approach, I receive an actual coffee cup when dining in and there is always a nice little flare of artwork to the pour but does it taste better than other places? Definitely seems possible and maybe feels a little cleaner but is there a huge difference in taste and flavor? Not really. The food they provide is the standard cafe offering but seem to be full of sweets, breads, and sugars that I typically stay away from. I have to admit Starbucks has some really good offerings that you can easily see nutrients on and feel better about what you're eating. The staff is definitely polite and cordial but with more of that High Fidelity type vibe towards you, so you feel a little left out. Plus with more of that bespoke approach to your drink sometimes you want to scream because the line is so long as you wait and I'm not sure if that is because there is demand or it just takes so long to make your item! Backyard Brew which is a much smaller place and obviously not on the scale of Blue Bottle, Peet's, etc..has that same bespoke approach but their service is amazing and nice and you feel welcome. Great location and very comfortable. I had coffee while I did some meetings at this location. The coffee took a little bit of time to get but overall I was pleased with the execution. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

One of the most beautiful Blue Bottle locations. The outdoor courtyard is the real star of the show with plenty of seating in the shade and sun. The indoor seating features long collaboration tables and murals. If that’s not enough, there’s also a co-working space that you can become a member of (separately from Blue Bottle) with plenty of working spots and meeting rooms. This location offers the standard Blue Bottle fare, nothing new to the menu. Come here for the reliable craft coffee and stay for the picturesque location.

Definitely overrated place. Cool location and setting, but the product and service is subpar. It took us almost 25 min to get two lattes, and then they were cold. What a waste of $15! Next time buy your coffee at Starbucks nearby and enjoy the patio at blue bottle 😀 Update on my original review: Blue Bottle customer service got back to me the next day and promised to send my feedback to the local team at the cafe. Also gave me a refund which was processed today. Appreciate their prompt response and immediate action on the feedback. We will give it another chance next time we are in Palo Alto.

Latte was warm not hot, largest size 16oz, staff a bit abrupt.

Nice place mostly used by geeks coding away or entrepreneurs pitching ideas to venture capitalists. Or just handing on sipping coffee in a relaxed noisy environment. This place is usually very busy and hard to find tables especially when the outdoor seating is not open due to rain. Food is snacks and lovely. Cappuccinos are the best here, creamy and perfect texture with the right level of Espresso with good flavors that you actually smell. Unlike Starbucks, this is specialty coffee worth the higher price. Come here to sit and enjoy a drink or meet for business but not for a quick coffee run. Parking is available in the lot usually easy to find on the street as well. Better to enter from the back side of Cowper street than on university Ave.

I love hanging out here in this coffee shop. Theres outlets where you can charge your phone, laptop, tablet, iPad, and more. There's also a free wifi. The atmosphere is quiet in the early morning. It all depends on the time you come in. Durong lunch time it can get crowded. The service is superb.

Great location, great ambience and great staff. Very friendly folks overall and they answered all my questions patiently. The coffee is really good and also the hot chocolate. The savoury offerings are very nice. The Walnut Toffee Roll (almost like a croissant) was really good when hot.

It's a great coffee shop! The coffee and food here is great (love the liege waffles!), but it is a little loud and busy here, so it may not be the best spot if you want to take calls.

Second time visiting the place after my first visit in LA. Big fan of their coffee now. Wish we had one in Phoenix. My friend from Germany loved it as well. Staff is nice and friendly. There is a common work area or something right next to it so that was the only confusing part. They have enough tables outside and you don’t have to wait in the line.
