This place has become one of my favorite coffee shops in the East Bay. Unfortunately, I'm not able to go very often when I'm in the area because they open at 8a which is too late for me 😢 but I go whenever I have a later start and I never regret it!
Loved this coffee shop, friendly baristas, cute cups and amazing coffee. You can view the processing unit inside and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee by the large street side windows or outside too. Our order was delayed due to come confusion and they gave us a complementary cup of coffee with sincere apologies.
Amazing lattes and pastries (from Starter Bakery). Nice cafe with a modern vibe.
Delicious Gibraltar 👍
The chai tasted good but had a weird mouthfeel, and their empanadas had a good filling but very dry dough. Additionally, the business might want to update their register and their baristas on the local law — cashless business are illegal in Berkeley and the ordinance was passed last year so the barista who said “It’s not, I looked it up” might be a bit behind on the news.
Bought the locally roasted Drip & Rip beans from here, which is absolutely delicious and has been making my mornings. Not to mention it came with a zine and 2 stickers!!
This is among the best cappuccinos I've ever had. Darkly reddish brown, balanced taste and served hot. This is what a cappuccino should be. In addition I appreciate the ethos of CoRo as well as the ambiance of the space -- I came here to study and enjoyed my view of the roasting room through the big glass wall. They have a good amount of seating, but getting there earlier is better, as you'll also have less trouble finding free street parking outside. I also tried a slice of the vegan pumpkin loaf and loved it -- much fresher and spicier than the Starbuck's equivalent. I can't wait to go back!
Great coffee, but even better quiche.
Such nice staff!
Extremely good coffee. Best cappuccino you’ll have in Berkeley. There isn’t any food options besides the few pastries they offer, but that does not take anything away from the kind service they provide and the super TASTY coffee they make, not to mention their latte art skills. If you want good coffee in Berkeley , look no further than here. All coffee is fresh (they have a roastery in house) and served in very nice ornate-style cups. Brilliant shop. Also a cappuccino is only $5 (which is what it should cost everywhere) so it’s affordable for students!
I wish I had found this place sooner - it’s likely the best coffee shop in the east bay. Small but really nice space, amazing coffee, tasty pastries from starter (and maybe others?). I’ve been there a few times now and their drip, pourover, and expresso drinks have all been delicious. I also overhead that they do roasting and cupping classes, too :)
Like others point it out, service can vary widely by the person who assist you.
A variety of coffee beans. I love it and the people there know their coffee, delightful.
Excellent coffee and great service! The pour over and the drip were great choices. Definitely one of the better coffee places in Berkeley!
Such an amazing spot with amazing staff, the hot chocolate is so delicious.
Great, small Cafe. Really good Coffee
Classy coffee and vibes. What more you trying to get out of life? This spot has the beans, it has the baristas, all it needs is you. Come on over an order them CoRo coffee (or hot chocolate like me) and be satisfied on a crisp Bay Area morning. This be Berkeley vibes to the max. With them gender neutral pronouns and coffee roaster smell.
Excellent, efficient, thoughtful service! I had a cappuccino and a croissant. The croissant is extra buttery and flaky. The cappuccino is quite robust and flavorful. Strong espresso :-)
Trans friendly coffee, yes please! ❤️
Can I give 6 stars? I had single origin espresso for myself and hot chocolate for my daughter. She described her drink as amazingly chocolate tasting and didn't feel like syrup based at all. It felt like real chocolate and she loved her drink. It had beautiful late art on it even as it was made with almond milk. The espresso was amazingly refreshing and has dynamic taste that I get very rarely. It had amazing balance of fruity and floral tastes, but also lots of depth and nuances. Pure joy to drink! Highly recommend to espresso enthusiasts who like espressos made in Portland OR.
