Went there for the first time today and we will definitely be back! The team behind the counter was super friendly and made some great recommendations. My husband had the bees knees and bbq mac n cheese, I had the club and the chicken coconut curry soup. Hubby said the mac and cheese itself was pretty standard mac and cheese but that's the only thing that was average--everything else was incredibly fresh and delicious! The bread was thick-sliced and so fresh, the sandwiches had the perfect proportions of meat and dressing and veggies, and the soup was full of chicken and just the right amount of spicy. The service was quick too. We sat outside on the patio which was lovely. But the inside is awesome too, the design has this farmhouse/industrial vibe that's homey and chic at the same time. There are tables, a counter by the bar area, a counter at the window, and a corner with chairs and a couch. It's got all the creature comforts we're all used to getting at Starbucks but with a down-home Dover feel and the food is a million times fresher. It's just what we needed here. I'm so glad they're in the neighborhood and I will definitely be a regular! Can't recommend highly enough!

We held a wedding rehearsal dinner at The Hive for 29 people. It was just what we were looking for, quaint and private. We were pleased that we could reserve the whole cafe for our event so our guests could mingle. The food was delicious and the smoothies were a "big hit" on a hot summer evening ๐. Catherine was great to work with and very accommodating. We were also more than pleasured to support a local, christian business. We will definitely use The Hive in the future for special gatherings. Thanks Catherine and staff for a memoriable time for our special occasion.

I love an alternative to the franchise on every corner. The atmosphere is great and the local artists have given me some great options for unique gifts. I usually just drink black coffee, but gave their seasonal "dark chocolate eggnog latte" a shot ;). Sounds a little risky, but it was awesome. The only disappointment I've had there so far was going back for the latte and eggnog season was over :(. Hopefully it has a comeback next year.

I absolutely love this place. They have a laptop bar facing the window that I use for working on projects. There are diversified seating opportunities for hanging out or eating brunch. The coffee and food are delicious. All of the staff is pleasant. The theme is well done and beautiful. They also have a focus on local artists, entrepreneurs, coffee sourcing etc. This is my favorite coffee shop in the area.
Abundant parking.

The hive is such a cozy and quaint cafe. Their sandwiches are all yummy and their drinks are refreshing. I like the queen bee sandwich and their iced tea. They source their coffee and tea locally along with offering artwork and products from local artists and makers. We love going to hang out in the afternoon! Definitely worth checking it out, you wonโt be disappointed.

Adorable decor.... been there twice both times disappointing! Brewed iced tea strong and bitter could not drink it...no other option offered expect add water. Queen Bee - chicken salad more mayo than anything thing else, sloppy sandwich. I placed an order with no tomatoes... you guessed it - got tomatoes.
Next trip - ordered one sandwich to go - one to eat there with group of friends ... both packed to go... but the worse thing, ordered a grilled cheese. AWFUL! Who cannot make a grilled cheese? It was slightly melted, hardly warm and hardly toasted - it was terrible!!!! The prices are very high for the quality of food. Much better options out there!
But if you like coffee and a cute atmosphere... go.

Great little coffee house ๐ out behind Dotties on Canal Rd. Great sandwiches. Food is all very freshly made. Coffee drinks look delish. Did not have one, however. Soup of the day too. Salads. Would be a good idea to check this place out. Nice little outdoor covered eating area as well. You won't be sorry you stopped in.
