Chew Chew Bun

Coming from beach cities, CA, where I could get the finest pastries within minutes of driving, I was stoked to find this bakery about 2 months ago when they only delivered to my door for free if I had ordered online by 6pm the night before. They always threw into my bag an extra Pineapple Cake (cookie) or an egg Tart, which I enjoyed very much. Today I finally stopped by their newly opened store @ the Food court of Mt. Nittany Mall. I believed I chat with the owner/founder! Very humble & nice guy!! They did not have my bf's most favorite, Salted Butter Rolls, but their freshly baked and tasty Pecan Cinamon Rolls & Coconut Raising Buns would easily satisfy his picky sweet tooth. My must-haves from this bakery have always been their authentic Red Bean and Taro Buns. (The Golden Egg York Pastry was the bomb for Mid-Autumn Festival!!!) Their Creamy Tuna or Pork Sung Bun is a must- try if you're into more salty & nutritious treats. Their menu are getting bigger everyday, too. And the mall is still pretty empty. I bet if their store was in downtown everything would be gone in 1 hour..

I've made these buns a weekly habit! The lemon custard bun is my daughter's favorite, and I love the nutella cheese ones! The owners are incredibly nice too! Worth going back to the mall for!

Just ate my first egg custards. Delicious with the right amount of crispy crust. Definitely will go back for more. Looking forward to eating my lemon cream bun tomorrow. Or tonight! :=)

I can’t recommend this place enough - delicious and unique pastries at a very reasonable price, with great coffee too. The food beats every other downtown coffee spot, hands down.

I love to go in the morning and get their egg tarts ! It’s warm and delicious.

I can confidently say this is the best Asian bakery in the town. This guys just opened and I find myself getting asian goodies every morning. Highly recommended!
