Meh. I've been here several times over the years. Never great, usually just ok. There's little choice for dining in these parts so sometimes you have to take what you can get. Service was good.

Had an amazing meal with family after a funeral! Server's were super personable, patient & went out of their way for us! A great experience all the way around!!!

The staff was so accommodating! I called and said I had a big group and even though they don't take reservations, they held the banquet room aside for us. The milkshakes and service was amazing!

Almost never a bad meal or dining experience. Friendly wait staff. Food prepared with love and pride. Family style restaurant atmosphere. A favorite when we are in the area. The pan pizza is THE best!

food is processed and mediocre..nothing homemade but maybe the desserts. instant mashed potatoes and fake turkey and beef..sad. since the kids took over..it went down hill.

We are originally from Pa but have since moved to Florida. One of our favorite restaurants was Red Lion Cafe in Deturksville (Pine Grove). When we visit family we have always gone to the Red Lion and one of us always orders the broasted chicken which has been truly delicious in the past. On our last visit we decided to also take a bucket home to share. My wife ordered her platter which turned out to be dry and chewy. When we took the chicken home everyone complained how dry it was. We bought a 12 piece bucket and now are hoping the dogs will be able
to finish it up. Whatever happened to the Red Lion’s quality is a mystery but we are really disappointed. P.S. The pie was also old & dry.

We held a Celebration of Life for honoring my late husband. The staff was amazing!!! The food was wonderful and the cost was very affordable. They will be getting my return business.

The people are very friendly and the food here is down home cooking at it's finest. Come here with an appetite! The portions are huge and everything is delicious! Especially the beer battered haddock and the hot lettuce with bacon dressing. Yummy!

Unfortunately, I have to change my PREVIOUS 5 star review to a 1 star, and I think that is being generous. Like many, I grew up going to Red Lion and it was always a treat. Now, I can't say I will ever be going back with my family.
A few weeks back, we had a reservation with Red Lion. We actually had one at another nearby restaurant, but decided to go for Red Lion instead. The reservation was for a large group after a funeral. Family came in from all over the country and we wanted to have a nice meal. Unfortunately, that was too much to ask. We were put in their back room with one server in charge of about 16-18 of us.
Drinks and and appetizers with slow, we had to ask for refills and napkins (a pet peeve of mine), and not even enough rolls to feed everyone. 3 of the 4 tables received their food and we were told that the 4th table (you know, the one with the 1 YEAR OLD) slip was forgot to be put in, and that they are making it now.
Shortly after that, the other tables are finished eating and most of the food comes back, when they asked the person who booked the party to step out into the hallway and proceeded to tell them that the party needed to leave ASAP because they "over booked" and another party is coming in. In the meantime, not all of our food even came out yet.
So, we did what any professional does and politely let them know what was wrong with this picture. It's one thing to have poor-to-mediocre service, it's another to literally evict a big party before all of the food was even cooked. Their response was to discount our meal. Unfortunately, it's not about the money. It's about the inability to run a business. There's a lot of moving parts in the restaurant business, and when one part does not perform, it impacts the rest.
Anyway, we boxed up all of the food that the final table couldn't finish in time, boxed up the food that was still being cooked when we were booted out, paid the check, gave the server a great tip (because we know how to treat people), and left for the final time.
I know there have been changes with this establishment over the years, but perhaps it is time for some more change.
To the business owner: congratulations on tarnishing this fine establishment. It's unfortunate as it was a local favorite for some time. Seriously, I can look past the little nuggets of chicken that used to be called Broasted Chicken. I liked the new menu changes and always loved the sides. But, who in their right mind makes the ASININE call to push out a big post-funeral party to leave before their food is done cooking? *slow claps* /novel
