Persimmon Coffee

I usually don’t get matcha lattes because the quality of matcha is always so low. But this place has one of the best matcha lattes I’ve tried. It’s so smooth! You can tell they care a lot about the matcha.

Update: The owner, Kai, is super nice! He told me the matcha he uses is from a farm in Japan. You can taste the quality. Also the pastries are unexpectedly amazing. Love this cafe.

Lovely space and kind people. The drip coffee is very solid (and the specialty drinks look really good) and caffeine-sensitives like myself will be glad they have true, 8oz smalls. 🤙

Will travel for this coffee. The team behind Persimmon are some of the most thoughtful I've met over the years. Their own roasted coffee always turns out delicious drinks and their minimal space is friendly for all ages including my little ones.

They were both so friendly and I had one of the best lattes I have ever had. I even got to try the not-on-the-menu-yet chai (and it was phenomenal)!!

Cute shop. Nice staff. Had their fall special drink which was a latte with walnut, persimmon, and ginger. Was tasty!

I just love them. Great matcha, great cafe ambiance, and great employees/owners. They seem super genuine and hospitable. I think I’ve found my new favorite cafe 🥲 highly recommend this spot!

I discovered a small counter on an ice cream sandwich run on a warm summer evening. I made a note to stop in during the day to order an iced latte, and I ordered an iced latte and hurried out to catch the MFL train. I was a block away when I took my first sip and impulsively said out loud, “This is the best coffee,” so I ran back to the shop to thank the barista again.” A week later, I noticed that Persimmon Coffee had a storefront two doors away from their temporary location in Weckerly’s Ice Cream shop. I was not familiar with the roaster or if there are other locations. I plan to treat myself to an iced latte soon, at which time I will ask about the roaster and if they have other locations in Philadelphia. IF YOU LOVE COFFEE LIKE I DO, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHECK OUT THEIR COFFEE AND COFFEE DRINKS. I am pretty sure you will not be disappointed.
