I'm a mere coffee plebeian, although I try to check out smaller, local coffee shops whenever I travel. I tried a lot of coffee in Philly during my trip. Some just OK, but many were good. Cogito was by far the best, smoothest coffee I had. This place has a hip, modern, minimalistic style which I personally love. The regular latte was lit. I went back and got an oatmilk latte, equally lit. The baristas were cool and friendly as well. I'll be raving about this place for a while.

I have been to Cogito a few times since they opened. The coffee is consistently good and I enjoy the food menu. The mortadella sandwich is very tasty and the olive tapenade is a nice touch. It’s not huge but it will fill me up for lunch. I’ve also tried the espresso hot chocolate which was recommended to me by a friend and that was delicious. I have noticed that there’s been more room to sit down since the new laptop rule was instated. I actually found this be really nice and since there were more seats open I was able to have a colleague meet me at Cogito last Sunday for a quick work meeting. We easily found an open table in the front which used to be rare. Overall, my experiences at Cogito have been enjoyable. It’s become a regular coffee spot of mine and I’m looking forward to trying more of the food items.

There’s a policy about not being able to work on a laptop in the front area of the cafe. I was coming here so often because it’s a nice place to sit and have some decent coffee and get some work done in a nice space but it’s really not a good place for that anymore. The back area where laptops are allowed gets really crowded and it’s hard to find a seat. It’s kind of a shame but hey it’s their cafe they can have whatever rules they want. The coffee is decent but very expensive and not worth it to stop in just to get it to go - you might as well go elsewhere. There are a lot of other coffee places in the area with good coffee, WiFi, and more places to sit and work on a laptop or do whatever else you need to do.

Beautiful new coffee shop that really breaks away from the grab-and-go atmosphere of a Starbucks for a much more relaxing setting with lounge seating that perfectly captures the chilled vibes of Croatian coffee culture.

The staff couldn't be nicer and the coffee was delicious to boot - great pick for any student or professional looking for a break

I’m never going back to this place . I was racially profiled for no reason . I came in and sat down to start studying and a employee approaches me and asks if I was going to buy anything . I told him that I was going to get my things settled first and he says this is a business and if your not going to buy anything you need to leave . Please do not go spend your money at this place . I never have this problem with Starbucks maybe y’all should take some notes and learn from them .

Friendly staff with a large, well-lit space. Their pastries were great and they offered a free coffee with purchase of their whole roasted beans. This area desperately needed a coffee shop that isn’t a Starbucks and Cogito fills that void.

Good coffee, great service. Prices are a bit high, but that’s to be expected at a 3rd wave coffee shop. Their drip is excellent and their beans are top notch. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, their pastry and sandwich selection is limited (almost none). Hopefully that will return soon

Been to cogitos a couple times now. Place is clean and well lit. Staff is friendly and prompt with the orders.
I don't drink coffee, but they do have hot chocolate options in sweet and dark flavors, both are delicious.
They do have a laptop rule (i.e. no laptops by the window), but there's great counter space and plenty of table spaces with outlets and wifi available in the back half of the store. Great for studying or setting up shop to work remotely for the day.

I have been going to Cogito since it opened a few months ago. The space has always been a great place to get work done, but be aware of the new policy they instituted for weekends and holidays banning electronic use in the front of the store to "promote conversation". I am giving one star because of the way the manager informed us of their new policy. There were 6 tables in the front using laptops, we ordered a cup-for-here and then sat down and unpacked our laptops. The manager ran over and told us that we were not allowed to use our laptops and had to move to the back of the shop, which was already full. Keep in mind there are 6 other tables of people that were also using their laptops, and therefore telling us to move to the back was basically a polite way of asking us all to leave. We had to pour our coffees into a to-go cup and repack everything up. A warning about the new policy prior to ordering would have been all we needed, and we would have gladly taken our business elsewhere. Will never go back her due to the rude manner in which this was handled. If they wanted to make more space for non-laptop using customers they will have an excess of empty tables from now on.

I used to really love Cogito, they were close to my apartment and had great coffee and tea. Unfortunately right before COVID, I bought a tea and sat down by the windows to do work and the guy working there came up to me asked me to find a different seat because they didn't like people doing work on their computers by the window? It was very strange and I was embarrassed, especially after buying something. I thought I had misheard him because it seemed like such a strange rule..for a coffee shop. There were no other seats open so I had to just leave. I feel badly that they have lost a lot of business since COVID, but I won't ever be going back because of this.
