This is a bright, airy, and comfortable coffee shop in Center City. They have chairs and tables, bar seating in the back, and comfortable sofas for lounging as well. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with whole milk and it was $6. It was well made and tasty! The baristas were very friendly too and didn’t mind explaining the different options they offer. They have both in house glassware/mugs or to go cups. I had my coffee to drink at the shop. They have plastic straws available at the milk station. They also have a water station and the milk station has honey syrup and simple syrup available.

They also have pastries and coffee beans for sale. There is plenty of seating space (some of the previous reviews mention the back area is closed, it has now opened!) and I would definitely come back with a friend to catch up or to get some work done. There are two single all gender restrooms. The large windows let in plenty of natural light and you can people watch as well. They do not have any outdoor seating but I thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the windows.

Good cappuccino. Plenty of mixed seating - bar, tables, sofa chairs. Single barista working the espresso machine - service can get slow when busy. Good place if you plan on spending an hour or two working.

I tend to like a dark, book filled coffee shop with sofas and coushy chairs, but walking along 12th street to another joint, we stopped here because it was chilly and we had donuts to eat.

Bright, modern, clean. Super friendly, funky baristas welcomed us and they didn't mind us eating our donuts purchased from another establishment. Coffee is delish! Great find!

The place location is very good and you will love the setting area. The coffee was normal and I didn’t like it so much. Also, the ice coffee.

My friend and I were visiting Philly for the day and stumbled upon Cognito when needing a place to spare a few hours. The atmosphere was bright and relaxing. The espresso shot wasn’t the tastiest, which took a point off of my review, but otherwise it was a lovely place to stay after a long day of walking in the cold.

Nice local coffee shop with a full espresso offering and single-origin pour overs. It’s well lit and has a ton of seating–to meet or work at.

$7 for a burnt bland chai. Whole vibe of this place is that customers aren’t welcome to hang out. Signs up that say no Wi-Fi and don’t linger. What else is a coffee shop for?? Loud music too, just what people who are reading or working want. I’m not a fan of Starbucks but it’s way better than this place…

Went to get 3 coffees. All they do is pour coffee in a cup and you have to add your sugar and cream. Server was pleasant but more interested in chatting with her coworker. The coffee was very strong. Some may like that but it was not to my taste. I will not be going back

Good seating options but no one stays because they do not offer WiFi. Very good almond croissant! The barista was in a bad mood and was slamming cabinets and throwing recycling pieces into the back room with frustration causing a scene. Espresso was burnt. Probably won’t head back anytime soon.

Not impressed. Their food options were not varied, the barista was distracted and forgot an espresso while spilling a drink, and the actual espresso shot was somewhat sour. Also, this place has probably the most expensive espresso prices at $3.50 per shot... there are many other better places to get a coffee and a snack in the city.
