Today was my first time going into the coffee shop and I didn’t really have the best first impression of what I assume was the owner (Hipster dude with the scarf and blue glasses) I work here in town and was on a quick lunch break so I decided to grab some food from Safeway next door. Now personally I am a huge coffee lover and drink it every day. I give a lot of money to the local businesses around here…However with that being said, as much as I have been wanting to try Corner coffee I didn’t really have the intention of purchasing any coffee this time. I had already had my fair share of coffee this morning so I just wanted to do a little recon and check the place out. I thought it would be a good chance for me to eat my lunch, check my emails, and scope out the menu for my next visit…
Within one minute of me sitting down the owner comes over and asks if he can get me anything…(If I wanted something I would have went to the counter) It seemed odd to come up to me from behind the counter so I then ask “is it ok for me to eat my lunch in here?” (I immediately got the impression that is wasn’t) to which he basically told me that “this isn’t a place for picnics and that he is trying to run a small business” (He said it in a nicer, more socially awkward kind of way but that was his main point) I then felt obligated to make a purchase…Keep in mind there is literally no one else sitting down in the whole place except one other person.
I would understand his point more if the place was busy and he has people taking up seats that could be used for customers….but this wasn’t the case.
I then get up to make a purchase and he is kind of condescending to his employee because she didn’t greet and ask me what I wanted.
The whole experience was just kind of awkward.
Many people in Wilsonville have been wanting a cool local coffee shop for a while now…not just because of the need for more coffee options but also because people want a friendly and cool little spot to connect to WiFi, eat lunch, check emails, study…and just hang out if they want to.
If that’s the type of place you are looking for then this is not it.

EDIT: A reply your response...
If this has been a problem where you had to come up to me and say something then clearly im not the only person that has gone in there to eat and/or connect to wifi…Shouldn’t that tell you something? Have you literally ever stepped foot inside any Starbucks?.....like ever? Go take your lunch to the fred Meyer Starbucks… I promise you won’t be approached by their employees and told this isn’t a place to “picnic.”
Here is some business advice…a “no” today isn’t a no forever…I WOULD HAVE come back the next day and maybe every day to buy coffee from you…However your attitude lost you a return customer. Also…your coffee shop was a ghost town. It would benefit you to look busy…if people see and know you are busy and popular they will associate that with you selling an amazing product and being successful. So when there is no one in your shop you probably shouldn’t chase out the only person who chose to come in.
But hey I appreciate the condescending response! I am sure your business will stick around for a long time.

Organic coffee and really good pastries but my favorite is the vegetarian sausage and "egg" (vegan) sandwich, yum!

The coffee is good and not burnt like Starbucks coffee. The staff was polite and helpful. The pastry was day old and expensive. Good parking lot free WiFi and nice atmosphere.

Atmosphere is great, baristas are super friendly and all the bagels are always fresh. Best blended drinks, try and ask your barista for their suggestions because they're always amazing

EDR Performance

Always friendly and their mocha tastes amazing. I’ll always rather support local even if that means 50¢ more and having to wait an extra 1-2 mins for local than a corporate bitter tasting political based chain.

Not the greatest customer service for a community coffee shop. Offering vegan options, no vegan options available at time of visit. Very $$$ for what they do offer.

My friend and I love to come in here!! Always a calm enjoyable environment, with lots of smiles! Also the drinks are really good and the homemade muffins.. too die for!

Christina Todd

Limited bagel variety and they were out of onion bagels. Bagels are not traditional and dense, they were more like an airy bread. Amount of cream cheese put on bagel was laughable.

Riley Michelle
