As we drive out of Newport, we pass at least seven places on the 101 that we could stop at and get great coffee; when we make the 20+ mile drive to Seal Rock Espresso & Bakery it's because we want great coffee and great breakfast baked goods. Newport has some options, but few have homemade breakfast pastries and, with the exception of The Chalet, they've all been hit and miss, especially if we're ordering for more than two. Seal Rock Espresso & Bakery consistently is a hit. The maple bars and strudels are big enough to share, but no one does. The bear claws are the real deal with a choice of fillings, almond and cherry being my favs. The only caveat is get there early to have a full choice of items. If not, call a day ahead and reserve what you want. For the quality and freshness, the prices are super reasonable. And yes, you'll find every coffee, espresso drink you could possibly crave, made to order with just as much pride as is taken with the pastries.

Oh my Gosh. I LOVE their coffee but the ALMOND CROISSANT is the BEST!!! I just hope they have 3 saved for me when I come through Friday mid morning. Yep yep yep. I drive so far just for their coffee and amazing food. Mouth already watering.

The picture that popped up wasn't the right business ... It isn't a little one room store it has. A drive thru. And main store front it attached to other store. Great place for coffee and breakfast croissants.

So pleased with our visit here. Enjoyed a nice conversation with the staff, so very friendly, and not rushed, even came out to the car before we got to the window to expedite our order. Especially appreciated the extra effort made on a 'special' order...and the cookies for our pops was a really nice touch.

We love this place, very good espresso and amazing pastries. Today we got an Apple Strudel Turtle, made for 2, it was as big, one of the best baked good I have ever had. Puff pastry in the shape of a turtle filled with thin sliced apples, just the right spices and still hot from the oven. Thank you!

Great coffee, fantastic espresso, homemade pastries to die for....you're gonna slow down through Seal Rock anyway, so why not treat yourself to some real Coastal nectar and ambrosia? Seriously, I stop here nearly every day, and they are the best on the Central Coast.

The coffee is always fresh and delicious. All the pastries are baked right in the shop! They make fantastic chocolate and Nutella croissants. Savory pies, too. The people are super friendly.

The milkyway mocha is absolutely amazing. The jalapeño cheddar bagel and pastries were out of this world. We are from Minnesota and always stop here when we are in town!

The food is hands down some of the best I've ever had in my life. Both sweet and savory are perfect and the coffee is to die for. Take the time and stop by whenever you're in town, you won't regret it. The people that work there are also wonderful.

I ordered a raspberry danish and a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. The danish was overcooked and the bagel had no taste. When I paid my bill I asked for a receipt and the young guy at the window said he didn't give receipts. I had him write one out. Otherwise how would I know if he did the transaction with my debit card correct. Also, he just didn't seem to be very aware. Won't go back.
