Great vibe in this local coffee roaster. Not a ton of food/pastry options, but the single origin espresso we tried was incredible

We heard the coffee was great and had to try the place out. We did purchase two bags of the Ethiopian beans to take home and brew (Sulladjah and Wuri). While there, we got two cups of the drip — Ethiopian Wuri, bright and clean, enjoyable. We also got a canele from Nuvrei which was delicious, crunchy on the outside and spongy on the inside with a delightful amount of vanilla. We ordered a ristretto (short pull) which was over pulled and missed the mark.

Known for their coffee, you have to be serious to appreciate this place. If you are not into the coffee scene, it won't make sense - the prices, the aesthetic. However, if you are in the know, it's a destination.

Probably the best cappuccino I've had in my life! I had the single origin espresso with oat milk. I was really blown away by strong notes of nougat.

I enjoyed myself at this cute shop. I ordered an americano to sit and enjoy within their space. After I paid I sat down and they brought me my drink. I liked as time went on. I really am not a fan of medium / light roast espresso, which i believe they use. The note is too bright for me, but when it cooled a bit it was enjoyable. It seemed that they had a nice selection of pastries and the women working here were very lovely.

Small business with its own character
Vanilla latte and pistachio rose pastry in the pictures.
Excellent pastry. I am always wary when food includes rose flavoring because it is so overpowering. This was the opposite, very subtle and complementing the pistachio. The crust is flaky and crunchy as it should be.
Vanilla latte on point as you would expect a well established coffee shop to be.
Free wifi and plenty of seating to do work and catch up on emails without being bothered.
Only suggestion I'd make is for more power outlets for charging.

I ordered a double americano and a rose pistachio croissant. The croissant was tasty more like a cake with decadent filling and sugar powder. My americano was good not superb but pretty good... nice open setup space wise at heart ... they keep an open heart 💜

The experience at Heart Coffee Roasters is more than just the coffee (fantastic) and the baked goods (outrageous. Impossible to understand why they can be so good. The chewy chocolate walnut cookie : oh Lordy). It’s a ready-made magazine cover for “Hipster Culture Today” or “Cafe of the Future Journal.” For the record I’m here with my coven.
Heart-themed art on the walls, Depeche Mode on the sound system. People are people, but only the hippest drink Heart.

Favorite coffee shop in Portland. Always really nice staff and one of the best cold brews I’ve ever had.

This place is definitely a treat yourself place with anything besides drip coffee. The prices are hefty, but worth it. You know, TREAT YOSELF! I always get the latte with house walnut-almond milk. The house walnut-almond milk is to die for! Let me say that again, "When you go to heart roasters, be sure to try your drink with the HOUSE WALNUT-ALMOND MILK!" Simply put, it's like nothing I've had before! It is so good, after I tried it I immediately went home and made my own walnut-almond milk. It was delicious, but lots of work which is how I now understand why they charge $1.50 to sub for regular milk. Do yourself a favor and try the house walnut-almond milk.
