Extracto Coffee Roasters

Although I've lived in the neighborhood for years, I recently found Extracto. I think their coffee is better that Stumptown's. It makes for a fabulously complex latte. If you like iced coffee, they don't just brew a pot and stick it in the fridge. They use the toddy method that makes a strong coffee that stands up to melting ice. If there's a line, it will go quickly but if you want a table, you better get there early.

Go here for the coffee and not espresso. Don't get me wrong, they do espresso well but they really dial in the pour over.

Great atmosphere. Friendly owners, quick and skilled baristas. If you get the chance get some beans roasted here. "Mexico la yorba Natural process" is uncanny how much fruity sweet flavor is packed in.

Delicious coffee! Hand made Americano was great and you could really taste the richness of the beans without being burnt. They also sell lots of different types of coffee makers.

Awesome environment for whatever you're doing: I've come here for biz meet ups, read books to my kids over hot chocolate, and solopreneur worked at my keyboard with a cappuccino and one of those tiny squares of chocolate (try Philippines).
Also, forget your pencil? They offer free pencils and have a REAL sharpener!

Excellent coffee shop. Once you find it, you will become a regular attender.

Coffee is soooo good here, I go out of my way for it. Waaaay out of my way!
