North Powder Cafe and Lounge

Fantastic place to eat and to work. Overall friendly staff, quick service, and good food. Prices are fair for the amount of food/beverage you pay for. The owner is an awesome person. The cafe has a relaxing lounge with a great selection of liquor. Would recommend anytime.

I am sitting here right now and ordered the ribeye and shrimp special from Sarah and I didn’t even get my food yet, just the clam chowder so far and already this is my new favorite place to stop!!! Thank you and I know my food when it gets out will be on par if not better!!!

Country fried stead was huge enough for 2 easily. The country potatoes are like what Grandma made. Desserts are homemade, lemon cream pie outstanding.
Service friendly and eager to get you what you want to make your eating experience a pleasure.

This place was awesome!!! Oh how I wished I wasnt off of sugar when I saw the pies and cinnamon rolls. The cafe is clean, the staff friendly. We had breakfast...it was very good. I had an omelette and house potatoes...they actually browned the potatoes, which was nice. My husband had a sausage skillet ... It looked good also . We both enjoyed eating here. Will definitely stop in again as we have had a hard time finding anywhere decent to eat in la grande.

The meals are huge for the price you pay, and the food is always hot and delicious.
I do not like, however; that when my husband and I share a meal they charge us $2 extra. We always share everywhere we go, but here we get charged to.
Tonight we got 3 pieces of pie. i was very disappointed to fine zero cherries in their cherry pie. It was all just the jelly filling. and the same for the raspberry pie...no raspberries just filling.

This was the first time I had been here. I've driven by it hundreds of times. I ordered the 1/2 lb chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns. It was delicious. Its an actual steak hand breaded right there. I actually took half the steak with me. Highly recommend it.

Stopped for breakfast on the way to a bowling tournament and was not disappointed at all. Typical small town, just off the I84 freeway, Cafe breakfast really hit the spot. Had French toast, with eggs, sausage and hash browns and all of it was great! Will stop again next time thru!

Great food and very friendly people. Currently only doing takout as the state shut down dining, but the food was well worth eating somewhere outside, plus you get to look at the backdrop. We're from Georgia and just happened across this place hoping to find something besides fast food and I'm glad we found it.

The locals know this place very well but is a bit of a hidden gem right off of I-84 for most others. They have a great menu with some of the best home cooked comfort foods you will ever find.
The portions are very generous at a great price. The help is always kind, courteous and accomodating. If you are passing through the area, make it a point to stop and sample the food and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed!

Best soups in all the land. My husband and I are truck drivers and we pass by North powder pretty regularly. Never have we ever had a bad meal here. Their other gift shop stuff is really neat. We always stop by and get a Western garlic burger as much soup as we can. Best place ever!
