This place had my expectations high when I walked in. It has a great healthy menu, and reasonable prices. The acai bowl was yummy, but the breakfast burrito (without bacon as we requested) was pretty flavorless. Also they served the dishes and smoothies in plastic containers even though we were eating in. I really do not like wasting plastic and from a health conscious store like this, I expect better. I ordered a smoothie thinking they would use the plethora of empty mason jars I saw right there on the counter, but I guess I should have asked specifically about the serving container. I probably would have not ordered if I had known it would lead to more plastic waste.

This place was very disappointing. I ordered a vegan breakfast burrito and a americano with almond milk. I was served a breakfast bowl and a latte… They offered to wrap the breakfast bowl in a tortilla and I said yes. The burrito was terrible, raw cold tofu, with white rice and avocado, no seasoning or flavor at all. It would be one thing if they were really busy but I was the only person in the store so they had plenty of time to prepare the food. I went out of my way to go to this place and was very let down. Also the person working at the counter had earbuds in… probably the reason my order was completely wrong. There’s lots of great little cafes in that same area of Hood River, I would recommend choosing a different one.

Not great service. The environment and the food is not great and not worth the money spent. I don’t blame the employees, this is a poor responsibility on the manager and it’s management. I feel bad for the employees due to bad management as what is being viewed on this business and it’s sayings. Also, the managers response is not great AT ALL to ANY customer. I have heard a lot of negative information about the lack of management and communication. I think the idea of this business is great, but needs another person to manage it well.

Great and friendly staff! Came here for ur acai bowls. Things you should know of you decide to get an acai bowl here: 1) The fruits they put on top like strawberries and blueberries were frozen, so if you don’t like frozen berries, this might not be for you. 2) the actual açaí part of the bowl was not the usual dark purple color but more of a light pink. I don’t exactly remember what else they mix with the açaí.

I waited nearly 30 minutes for a smoothie. There were a few people ahead of me but it wasn’t super busy and it still took that long.
The smoothie was delicious and the folks behind the counter were nice but a sense of urgency would have been better.
The person making my smoothie kept getting distracted and took a very long time to put the ingredients in the blender. She did not seem very professional.
But the follow your bliss smoothie is very yummy.

Fantastic cafe! The sporty protein açaí bowl was amazing! Very fresh and filling!

The owners were also in and were very kind and welcoming! I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Mis-labelled the non-vegan burrito in our order as being vegan, which I realised half way through eating a “no cheese” burrito that very much had cheese in it. Also got our order wrong, charging us for an extra smoothie. Gave us our dine-in smoothies in to-go plastic cups, which is secondary.. Most upset about the “no cheese” burrito having cheese. Definitely double/triple check your order with them if you go.

Nice little spot but when it takes 58minutes to get two smoothies and only one party is ahead of you that ordered before you arrive, makes it hard to choose here. Since staffing is limited right now, if you can't get staff to make all the items on your menu, maybe remove some. You put them in a hard spot.

Smoothies were okay. One was super liquid and the other very thick. I understand that they can be different due to different ingredients. They say if you are not 100% guaranteed, then say something but you can't remedy the time this took. Even if there was something terribly wrong with the smoothies we wouldn't have time for them to make it right. Unless you refund my $. It's a novel thought but you can't always do it. multiple people who ordered after us got their smoothies first. If I would have known it was going to take this long I would have taken a picture of my watch before and after just to prove this. The couple outside was complaining about the time too.

At only 4 tickets up they started turning people away.

Trip: ask how long it will be before you order whether it looks busy or not.

Updated review late April 2021: I really appreciate that the owner listens to customer feedback and responds to reviews (including this one!) I ordered online this time as suggested by the owner and got an Açaí bowl and ginger apple lemon shot. I was quoted that it would be ready in 20 min, and it ended up being ready early (within 10 min!). Both the shot and the bowl were super delicious (warning: the shot is very gingery!) and employees were friendly when I picked it up. This time I noticed a sign on the counter mentioning they were training new employees and to expect slight delays, which I think was also a good improvement considering my review and other reviewers mentioning longer than average wait times. Overall, I love the freshness and quality of all items I’ve tried here and understand that that can translate to slightly longer wait times, but it’s worth it. Would definitely return!

Original review from March 2021: I was the only one in the store, there were 3 employees working on making food, and it took them 15 minutes to make my smoothie (only item I ordered) :( they apologized and said they had a lot of to go orders but I was in a rush, I wish they had just told me they were running behind and I wouldn’t have ordered it. It was pretty good and I’ve also tried their chunky monkey energy bites and they were great as well. Will definitely come back and hope to have a better customer service experience.
