Great road-trip gem we found coming home from elk camp. The food was definitely made from scratch and the staff was super friendly. We took a whole pie home, highly recommend!

This is the dream diner you hope to find after a long road trip. Delicious food, fantastic staff that make you feel like family and the homemade pies are incredible. Having a meal at this gem was a highlight of our trip. Great chicken strips, real and lumpy mashed potatoes with country gravy, thick milkshakes and we brought pie back to where we were staying. Apple jalapeƱo and strawberry rhubarb. Amazing! A terrific place. Currently they are not open for breakfast. 11am to 7pm and closed Mondays and Tuesdays when we were visiting.

Great breakfast and large portions (the biscuits were the size of a small plate). This is a wonderful way to fuel up for exploring John Day NM and the surrounding painted hills.

Outstanding! This might be a fly thru town, but this is definitely a stop you'll want to make! The food was delicious, portions top notch, prices were fair and the server was witty to boot! Not really hungry, get the pie! There's a board full pie flavors, including your Grandma's strawberry-rhubarb (brings back memories). Local favorite so be ready to wait a few minutes...it's worth it too!

Great food!! Had to ask for salt/ pepper and didn't get any napkins for our yummy but messy burgers.

Just go! Best pies I've ever had! Excellent burgers too!

Who has anything other than 5 stars to say about this cafe? It was SUCH a great experience. Great food, full plates, pie to die for, and service that was excellent. We ate here two nights in a row and all food and both wait staff were all top notch. Thanks for such a rich, lovely, filling experience (and the best pie that I've ever had--German chocolate).

Nice little cafe. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. It was a delicious local beef patty. I love that they toast the bun. It came with more fries than I could eat. I had heard from many of the locals that this is the place to get great homemade pie. I ordered a piece of marionberry pie to have later. It was soo yummy! I highly recommend stopping in for a meal or at least a piece of pie.

This ended up being a last minute stop on our way to Lebanon, Oregon. We are on our way to hike the PCT. We had actually driven through this small town but then decided to turn around and eat here. I enjoy going to small cafes. The food always seems better. I ate the BLT with avocado. Delicious! Fries were fresh and homemade. My daughter had a French Dip and fries. She enjoyed that as well. Service was friendly and quick. We day outside on the deck and enjoyed the decent warm weather. We had actually arrived just in time to watch 14 Ferraris pull in. One was already there. Ferrari Club of America doing a 1000 mile tour. What a treat to see all of those cars! We visited on August 1, 2018.

I had the best taco salad I've ever had it was awesome! And the service was great! Would recommend it to anyone traveling through there. My brother bought a whole pie as well.
