Best coffee In norman by a wide margin.

Honestly the coffee there is subpar. The lattes though, excellent. Gray Owl is a Portland-esque coffee shop where you go more for the atmosphere than anything else. It’s usually always full (so it’s tough to get a table) and parking on Gray Street isn’t fun.

Clean, large space with comfortable furniture and local artwork. Coffee taste great, prices include tax and there is plenty of free self-serve water. Plus, WIFI is free and reliable and there's a small library in the back that's good for random inspiration. One of my favorite places to go!

Very eclectic place with free WiFi, standard espresso drinks (cappuccino, latte, etc.), and a wide variety of teas (some herbal) than you can order by the cup or the pot. When college is in session, this is a popular study place, so you may end up sharing a table with someone too busy with their laptop to even notice you. So far I haven't had a scone, cookie, etc. that didn't please me.

Their "small" coffee is smaller than the standard styrofoam cups in your average corporate breakroom, and costs more than $2.00 if you do anything to it. I asked for a blonde, the best they could offer was a medium roast, but there was no mention of the pour-over on the menu, and as a non-connesieur of coffee... Honestly I could've just picked up an extra-large at the OnCue instead. (Sacrilige, I'm sure.)
I don't recall any issues with any of the staff any of the times I've been here before, they've always been polite and friendly.
The chai tea was fine, if cloying (I don't think I've ever finished one.) The scones, cupcakes, and cookies have all been good but seem a bit expensive given the competition in the area.
The music volume is hit-or-miss in my experience: sometimes quiet and sometimes so loud I have to raise my voice to be heard by the people I tutor.
Overall it's dark, but the table lights add some ambiance.
NOT little kid friendly-- no changing places and I would dread setting either kid down for even a moment: the floors seem grimy. (Hey, I get it's a coffee shop, but y'all are going for an industrial look so guess what... Industrial can come off as grimy.)
If your kid can be trusted to sit and participate in conversation/read /color /watch a tablet /play on a phone, you can get away with bringing them here.
If you're a 20-something college kid... Enjoy. If you're a youngish adult who likes to hear the person across from you speaking and not pay an outrageous amount for a coffee... eeehhhh, I don't know that this is your place.
I've tried visiting at different times on different days to get a decent variety of experiences to pull from, but I'm pretty sure unless someone specifically asks to come back here and won't budge on it as a meeting place, I probably won't bother in the future (price, noise & quality.) Sorry, Gray Owl.

Not a bad place. Coffee drink was good, and pastries were ok. If you are a college type person, this will be your jam. I think the tunes they played were a local assortment of nearby artists.

This place has comfortable couches, amazing coffee, and some nice hipster vibes. I like how it is located near all of the galleries on mainstreet. After you are done with your drink you can just head out and check out some art.

I LOVE getting my caffeine fix here! Best coffee in Norman hands freaking down. No burned beans here people! Also these guys are looking out and offering up some gluten free treats! YES it is ONLY a brownie and a cookie but I'll take what I can get. I do wish they would expand their g-free options as I do think it just makes them look a tad lazy at this point by only offering up these two sweet treats. Albeit they are the best brownies ever.

A large selection of loose leaf tea and vegan muffins as well as other baked goodies tempt you at the register. They offer a whole kettle for you to share or pour yourself a cup, which is what I like. There's a large circlular couch in the back for groups of friends to get together and loads of individual tables to chill, read, write, or study at. My only complaint is that the place is too dang dark. It's hard to see and the tables, with thier own private lamps, throw off the balance of light/dark too much IMO. Despite this, it won't stop me from returning for a kettle of tea.

A lovely atmosphere. There is a variety of loose leaf tea available to buy in bulk. The staff is friendly and most ingredients are locally sourced. I love meeting up with friends there or be on my own to read on the giant sofa.
