The cafe has excellent coffee drinks made to order. Tea is also available. The selection of baked savory and desserts is very good. It makes it hard to decide what to get. There is also a bar that is open later in the day. The atmosphere is vibrant, and seating can be hard to come by.
This is everything I want in a college-town coffee shop.

A nice roomy cafe with many options. The staff was very friendly. The coffee was pretty good, and they use local brewers. I had the Six Shooter out of Cleveland Ohio. Plenty of seating including comfy couches.

My father came here every day for coffee, probably since the day Slow Train opened. It was a place for him to sit, surrounded by the community of students and townspeople he loved, drink coffee, and read. I'll always be grateful to this coffeeshop for providing such an amenable environment for my father to sit and relax, a place where he could be a "regular," and feel that he belonged.

Horrible service. Terrible drinks. Even worse snacks. Took the barista 7 minutes to make a mocha. In the past, had to leave after paying due to waiting 23 minutes for a coffee. No money back.

Lost a star for trying way to hard to cater to the liberal Oberlin crowd. Just serve coffee and food. I tried my first vegan food here. It was very tasty but with my 6th time here and gotta say the coffee is okay. Has a weird water taste like the filter is old. Lost anther star for that weird aftertaste.
Gotta say the very open and liberal Feve restaurant can cater to all people without making it feel like that's what they're trying to do. I feel comfortable there. Not so much here.

Very nice staff, good student filled atmosphere. Long line (15 wait to order) is normal during morning.

We were just stopping by for coffee and had a terrible experience. Workers were extremely rude and the place was so messy. They pushed their tables and chairs into a big pile and the way they set up the store to be COVID friendly made no sense. Did not enjoy my coffee. Would not recommend.

A place that you can tell the owners knew exactly what their customers wanted; probably because they've been teaching them for years prior to opening this perfect coffee shop.

You'll first notice the inviting atmosphere, plenty of comfy couches or sturdy tables to get some work done. The crowd is generally younger college age, but there's plenty of professors and townies strolling through.

The coffee selection is full: hot, iced, chai, expresso, and chocolate options available. I don't think they have frappes (though Ohio is cold enough). They also have wine and some cocktails available.

You'll probably wait in line 5-10 minutes, and get your drink 3-8 minutes after that during steady hours.

If you're staying at the Inn, be sure to stop by at least once to experience an oberlin favorite

Slow Train is a nice coffee shop, whether you're settling in to study and get some work done, or you want to spend some time chatting with friends. The prices are reasonable and the staff are pleasant.

My favorite coffee shop in the area! (Tied with Local Coffee and Tea, which is owned by the same people.) No matter what I get here I always enjoy it. Almost never have a less than stellar experience here.
