You will not find a better cup of coffee for miles and miles. Extreme multi-roaster approach to supply means you will get to constantly bless yourself with new exciting coffees that you cannot get bored of. Their espresso beverages are top notch, consequential of the competition-level baristas you'll find beyond the bar. I can say that if you prefer ultra-sweet beverages you will not find them here, but that is not what this shop is about. Given an open mindset, anyone can be converted from a white chocolate mocha junkie into a lover of the exquisite, simple cup.
If they were to provide more vegan/gluten-free options in their home made pastries (another delicacy), as well as adding a few more substantial food options, it would eliminate the need for any other joints downtown.
Grounds for Thought is great and a townie classic, sure, but the coffee and service just do not compare.
Update: This isn't fast food coffee, and if you're in a HUGE hurry maybe just wait to try Flatlands another day. I can say, though, that it's worth the wait. Also, they have a less multi-roaster-centric philosophy since the team has began roasting their own coffee, and the options available have diversified quite a bit. Flatlands is an experience in service and product.

A little slow with the coffee. So he gave me a cinnamon bread gratis to compensate for the issue.

Great third wave coffee in a place where it's hard to find it. Excellent service at the shop, and they sold good and interesting beans. I'm a fan of their pour over, and the chai was well spiced. The baked offerings were also good, but I think the coffee is the true focus of the establishment.

I've been coming here for coffee ever since I was brought here by a friend. Since then, I've been hooked. The atmosphere is awesome and very relaxed. The staff is super friendly and always remembers me, so it feels super welcoming. And, of course, the coffee is awesome! It's some of the best coffee I've ever had. If you're looking for a good place to read a book, study, or just relax and enjoy good coffee, you have to come try this place out.

They staff is always friendly and welcoming. Whenever I bring someone new there they always make them feel as though they've been coming for years. The owner is there often even when he might not have to be to make sure everything is going well or to even help when it gets busy. Never had a bad experience (or cup of coffee) here. They are very dedicated to quality work.

The baristas here really know their stuff and are committed to making the best cup of coffee to suit your tastes. They love talking about their work and the coffee itself and they welcome feedback. The construction of the store is open and inviting, the music playing in the background is tasteful and fun, and of course the smell of the place is awesome.

Delicious coffee and baked goods. Good selection of single origin coffees. Very pleasant and relaxed environment. The staff is extraordinarily nice and helpful.

My wife and I supported this business in its early stages, but left Bowling Green before they opened. We finally had an opportunity to visit, and were amazed by the space! In a very small town feel town, Flatlands has a big city vibe to the decor. The service is exactly what you'd expect from a small town though - happy to help and happy we were there. We received a free bakery item for being a first time customer, and both of our drinks were awesome. We'll definitely be stopping back when we're back in BG!

Amazing place for coffee. Great atmosphere, great staff, great tasting coffee. Would highly recommend. I love 30 minutes away from them but I will definitely be going back whenever I want to go to a coffee shop. Worth the drive.

Flatlands was the first destination I put in google maps when I came to Bowling Green to visit to see if I wanted to move here from Chicagoland for my PhD program, and the experience surpassed all my expectations!
Their coffee is top notch (you get what you pay for!), the environment is comfortable and refined, the staff are incredibly personable; putting care into every order, and plus the Wifi is the best of any coffee shop in town.
I cannot appreciate them more. Whether you're just stopping through or permanently setting up shop - Flatlands is definitely worth the stop!
